ITT you list all the books you tried to read but lacked the attention span for

And that you made at least some effort to try to read.

Me:
Harry Potter #4
Harry Potter #5
Dummit and Foote "Abstract Algebra"

and probably a load of others. :p

How can you lack the attention span for Harry Potter? I can read those books in one sitting. And either way, It would be Harry Potter 1 if I couldn't handle any. I say you give them another try... seriously that is just wierd... and you are missing out lol.

I am currently puzzled.

END OF ADVICE AND CONFUSION.

Heart of Darkness, though I read it, I didn't like it. And Metamorphosis by Kafka, POINTLESS!!!!!!! Well, I read that one too, but still. That may seriously be the worst book I have ever read, Metamorphosis that is. And my english teacher was going on and on about how good it is... I'm like... uh nothing happens! Those modernists... they need some sort of plot in their books!

Charlotte Bronte's Villette and at first Jane Eyre but I eventually went back and finished. I hate not finishing books for some reason so usually I put myself through the torture of reading one I don't like esp. if I'm close to halfway done before I get sick of it.

partial list that my short attention span allows to come to mind at the moment. I'll probably add more later.
Don Quixote.
The Idiot.
The Brothers Karamazov.
The Scarlet Letter.

not to be politically incorrect but
diary of anne frank

Boredom kills attention span ^^

hmmmmmmm...Prep.

1) All of Ayn Rand's books except Anthem. (I got about 300 pages into Atlas Shrugged, which I see as heroic given I skipped around and read a large fraction of the plot before actually reading it in order)
2) 100 Years of Solitude. (I enjoy writing world lit papers on books I haven't read.)
3) A ton of hideously right-wing books that I bought when I was an anarchist. (read: Ann Coulter). I wanted to broaden my mind. Now I don't care.
4) The Healthy College Cookbook -- because ice cream + Ramen Noodles = ideal college diet
5) etc

Lord of the Rings. I never got through the Fellowship. I had to actually read The Silmarillion the whole way through for school--some of the most boring hours of my life.

Scarlet Letter
Most Jane Austin books
Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them (although I did eventually finish it for extra credit. I just skipped over like half of it where he rants on and on about how much he hates Fox. I can only take repetitiveness {not sure if that's a word but it is now} so much)

Les Miserables...it took me two years.
Lord of the Rings
And I probably owe Jane Austin a personal apology for all the shelf-time I've given her books.

Don't be so judgmental. I love scifi but have never found the Harry Potter books to be that appealing. I've tried to read Little Women a countless number of times, but that never happened.

I loved Little Women. It was one of my favorite books =].

oh my goodness....I could not for the life of me finish Jane Eyre.

Ulysses.....

I love Jane Eyre and anything by Jane Austen... but I have yet to finish Crime and Punishment, Dune, or anything by Ayn Rand

Heart of Darkness
Metamorphosis
Wuthering Heights.

ugh.

The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings.
Pride and Prejudice - and all my friends loved it. I felt very un-girly.
The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin - REALLY boring.
Catch-22

east of eden

"Grapes of Wrath"
"A Tale of Two Cities"
