Not sure if this goes here, but I am looking for 5 or 6 good books to read. I read all the jodi picoult books, and some amish books which were intresting. I am looking for books that have drastic story lines or about interesting things if that makes sense, anyone have any suggestions?

The World According to Garp is pretty drastic as long as you know the practical uses of a d*uchebag. If you like war novels (I do… a lot lol) my favorites are Going After Cacciato, All Quiet on the Western Front, and Catch-22. Catch-22 is actually pretty stylistically similar to The World According to Garp. If you like one, you’re almost guaranteed to like the other. If you don’t mind reading plays you might want to check out Edward Albee, Tom Stoppard (my favorite playwright of all time), or Samuel Beckett.

Anything by Ellen Hopkins. She wrote Crank, Burned, Glass, Impulse and Identical.
All deal with sort of “dramatic” topics (drugs abuse, sex, self-harm, suicide, drinking, pregnancy) but they don’t come off as dumb/overplayed story lines if you kwim??
