Just wondering when we get our info about what books we need to buy, bc from what i know they're pretty expensive and i'd like to get them sooner rather than later

The PHIL-099 books are all pretty much the same, unless they pull a switcheroo on us the last minute. Any current Hoyas want to shed light?

That's of course, for SFS. Hobbes' Leviathan, Rawls' (I forgot the name of the book, that's the one I still need to buy), Augustine's Political Writings, The Prince and Discourses by Machiavelli, and Mills' On Liberty.

Either 'Political Liberalism' or 'A Theory of Justice'.

Neither. Rawls' Justice as Fairness (just looked it up)

Wait, I'm confused. The pre-registration is not final, correct? And it won't be finalized until students are on campus. Are people buying books now, based upon their pre-registration? Has anyone been burned by profs changing their book lists?

I'm not..I learned my lesson at my night class last year. The professor wanted different books then the ones the bookstore said we needed, and it ended up being a rather expensive endeavor.

Yes, that one as well:D. I knew I was missing one.

look for the bookstore website, I'm not sure where it is, and you can look up the book list. if not on the course catalog online you can find the syllabus.

you can check efollett.com for the book lists...places like bigwords.com will let you compare prices and shop around

When do professors expect you to get all the books by?
