I'm not quite sure why that made me laugh.....but it did.

I got my combat boots! I wore them to school yesterday with a pair of shorts and I showed them off. It made me happy.

Try to break them in if you can, maybe wear them around the house or go for walks in them or whatever. Anything to prevent blisters during Beast is a good thing.

redhead, why does that not surprise me? lol. another hint i heard, wear them in intervals of time. so maybe an hour, then 2, then 4, then go for a short run. break them in slowly

How much running do you do in your boots during BCT?

not much is the short answer. Usually slow formation runs, and only a couple of them.

Ok, I just wanted to know if it would be a better idea to focus my conditioning to running in boots or running shoes. Thanks, I will probably do mostly running shoes with a few miles in boots a week.

You will run every other day in the morning. Maybe 5 or so runs in boots I'd say. Depends on your squad, but I wouldn't expect to run in boots any more than 10 times at the very max.

running in boots just helps break them in. and everywhere you walk is in boots after a week or so (first week half the day is BDUs with isued tennis shoes), but all the courses and running to/from them is in boots

Is anyone else having some issue with their heel? It feels like mine are moving just a little bit sometimes when walking in the boots. It's just a little movement... but I was just curious... Thanks

ya zman, mine is little loose there and about a inch short up front(i dont know what I was thinking when i tried them on..:l) and thats with boot socks and and extra pair beneath them. So i've ordered a half size smaller online, and if its just me freakin out i can return the online ones..:) if they really are a little big then i'll keep them and have the two pairs of boots we'll end up getting.

lmao, you kids crack me up. While comfort is nice, 95% of the time, it won't matter as your feet go numb anyways. :)

Yup mine do the same thing, thats why i thought i got them too big. But i don't have any blisters or anything, the heel just slightly moves, especially when i run.

Yeah same boat here mark40. Good luck with that cdk... sounds a bit crazy. lol thanks hornet...guess it wont really matter then...

lol. hornetguy, i picture you as being some wise old elder. yet, you are probably only a year older than the rest of us.

My boots are a little loose in the heel too. I think I should have gotten the smaller ones, hornet. But that's ok, I'm going to try them with an extra pair of socks. :) Can anyone else feel the difference in their legs from the weight of the boots? I feel like I'm getting a lot better of a workout when I run in them because my calves and shins tighten up more and then kind of go numb.

I have big boots (size 14 men's), so they are heavier than everyone else's, but my boots each weigh 3 pounds. I can definitely feel it when I run.

I guess I got lucky. Both of my pairs of boots fit really well. Not too tight, but not too loose. The only reason I have worn my tennis shoes since I got my boots is because I only have 4 pairs of boot socks, and I don't wash clothes every 4 days every time. :)

Oh yeah... try flutter kicks in them...world o' difference :)

geez... i have enough trouble doing flutter kicks in my tennis shoes... my abs are horrible. (they give out when i do pushups before my arms do)

wow, lol, that's sad. I know abs are by far my strong point. Better hope you're not one of my 4 digs. ;)
