Boot Experiences

Real encouraging hornet, real encouraging

if u want to work on abs (at least next year), go to abs class. it pretty much kills you

what does abs class entail?

everything i've ever seen that goes with abs. you lie on the floor for 30 minutes and constantly crunch while sometimes moving your legs too. it hurts

I heard that abs class is ridiculous. Maybe I'll check it out sometime...

today was my first day, and i'm going to go more often

do they pretty much have a class for everything?

Not realy sure, but I do know they have tons of clubs and activities you can participate in.

DOn't worry five digs, Hornet and I are going into the same squad and i PROMISE we'll be fair and not ridiculous, you and i have both seen bad 3 digs hornet and we're not going to be that way

lol of course not. On a serious note, my goal is to make sure my 4 digs are ready for recognition and that they do well in their duties (knowledge, PT, etc.). So I won't senselessly beat you, that's pointless. On my normal note, I am going to kick the crap out of the 4 digs. :) lol But Benjo is spot on, we have seen what **** bags are like and we will try not to let that happen to our 4 digs.

Abs class, I've done many, many of them. I did them from Thanksgiving to the beginning of 40 days (then no time to do them :( ) They destroy you (some instructors are brutal!) My hip flexers and abs were solid after all of it! The rest periods are crunches, and they feel so good after some of the other exercises.

Benjo6 and hornetguy- Good, glad to know that.

So what duties are you guys going to have in your new squadrons? Are very many 3-digs working Beast 1 or 2? I thought I read something about G4C helping with one of them. Is that true?

No 3 digs work BCT with the Basics. EVER. Some will be filling sand bags or working Jack's CQ, but you won't have any interaction with the 3 digs. only rising 2 digs and firsties do BCT for you.

We don't know our squad positions yet. Only, maybe, the Cheif Clerk will find out before the next year starts I believe.

Ok. Thanks.

The BX has special boot socks that have cushion and stay dry. Would the cadre let you keep them or take them way. Kinda expensive too (12.95 pr). Thought about wearing them on I-day so I could keep them through BCT.

If you wear them on I-day, I can't see any problem with that. Just keep in mind you may only do laundry a couple times. I think you should be able to keep a few pairs.

im goin prep first.....should I still by my boots early...or should I wait and get them issued to me when I get to prep

You still have a basic for prep school (shorter) so it's your call.

I still don't have my boots yet since I wasn't able to attend orientation and I need to get them pronto. Can you pretty much go to any base to get boots? Also, do I need clearance to get on a base? I am near Travis, McClellen, and Beale Air Force bases if that helps at all.

You can order them online, from like http://www.bellevilleshoe.com

You'll want the Flight Boots, 700 or 770 I think are the correct ones.

Wouldn't it be best to try them on though?
