Should i take the chinese sat 2? i'm a asian american.

it should be easy depending on your background.
you didn’t give enough information. shouldn’t you be the best one to gauge your own understanding of the chinese language?

Dude you are from Taiwan? That’s pretty cool man. But anyway, I’d say Chinese should be really easy unless you only speak in Taiwanese, but I know most people there can normally speak Chinese (and english and japanese). I don’t know if there would be a dialect difference… that’s a problem. Try taking a practice test and see how it is first. The test should be as easy as strolling down a sidewalk. The only problem is that colleges will see your score and know you lived in Taiwan. I think you should take it if you have time but also take a few other SAT Subject tests if the colleges you are aiming for require sat subject tests.

I don’t think taking the SAT Chinese would help since colleges will know that you are raised in Taiwan. Maybe you can prepare for another subject.

The sat 2 is pretty useless if they know you speak the native language. Plus, if you really want to get some credit you might as well self study for the AP Chinese test- getting a 5 on that is more impressive than an 800 on the subject.

Hi, fellow Taiwanese (:

the SAT 2 is an opportunity to show excellence in certain subjects, so if they can already assume that your Chinese is great from the fact that you’ve lived in Taiwan, I’d suggest that you take another subject in which you know you’ll get a good score.

however, if you think there aren’t any other good options, then take Chinese.
