Think of making a thread? Learn how to spell “twice” before you do that.

This is caused when people feel the need to go to some expensive out of state college instead of cheaper, in state ones! IT’S UNDERGRAD!!! Save the big bucks for grad school if you really must. I had a 3.9/4.3 (unweighted/weighted) high school GPA, and got a 1270/1600 on the SAT. I now attend the University of Central Florida. Sure, I could have got in to a “more recognizable” out of state school, but why do that when all the Florida schools had low resident tuition costs for residents and Bright Futures. UCF gave me a $2000/year scholarship, BF gave me “100%” tuition scholarship, and other scholarships along with grants now have me paying off all my tuition, housing, and fees, AND getting about a $1000 check back every semester. Undergrad is just undergrad, unless we’re talking about Ivy League/super high ranked schools, no one is gonna higher you based off your school. So go in state, look for scholarships, and save your money for a recognizable grad school if you must. Now when I graduate I’ll have a degree in Accounting (I think lol), no debt, and all my money from my job will go straight to my pocket… and rent :)

Another problem with student debt is that far too many people are going to graduate school to “ride out” the recession. This generally is not a good idea.

lol…sorry didn’t notice “twice.” I feel embarassed :)

Homer28,

What do you mean?

^ he means when people cant find a job, sometimes they go get some sort of advanced degree or something. they figure theyre not working anyway, so why not get a degree, and plus if its so bad now, how much worse could it be in a year or two… something like that.

Kinda how I feel now, Im very happy im in college instead of looking for a job right now. its ugly out there. It may not be good by the time i graduate, but how much worse can it be?
