Boston College--2008 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Champions!

Congratulations to the Hockey Eagles!! What a great season: winning the Beanpot, Winning the Hockey East Championship, a terrific Frozen Four and now a National Championship!

They won it last year too, right? With Brian Boyle who is not with the LA Kings?

They lost last year and the year before, both in the championship game. Hell, I'm a BU fan, but I gotta tip my cap to BC for always being so damn good. See you guys next year.

About time. I have been waiting for it since my freshman year. I would cry if I graduate without having at least witness a championship.

And Nathan, PLEASE STAY FOR ANOTHER YEAR! Don't trade Chestnut Hill for Buffalo.

Dear Reddune : Nathan Gerbe's size (only 5'5", 165) makes him an ideal player for the college game given his speed and the more protective checking rules. In the free-for-all that they now call the NHL, he is really not big enough to make an impact ... for his own safety, stay in Chestnut Hill!

As a side note, can you say enough about Jerry York and the coaching staff taking the winning gamble on freshman keeper John Muse?

Martin St. Louis (Tampa) is only 5'6"...well, they say he's 5'9", but he's not.

My point is, in the new NHL, Gerbe will have a place. Speed and skill are now rewarded (thats how a team like Buffalo has had a lot of sucess) over size and thuggishness.

Gerbe signs pro guaranteed. Had you guys lost in the championship, he would have something left to play for in college. However, he has his title and it is the perfect time to leave for him. Hobey doesn't matter when you have the national title. Your biggest weapon is going bye-bye. Hell, maybe it'll give my Terriers a chance without Brian Gionta Jr. out there scoring goals by the dozen.
