Boston College Class of 2024

@clifbar7 last year 14000 people applied ea. This year maybe 1000 or 1500 Ed is my guess. It’s going to be quieter. But I was hoping those who posted previously would update things for everyone and to give them a high five or encouragement.

oh that is true. still, there was more noise on this page before the deadline.

any advice for deferred applicants with regard to improving their application

D20 was accepted! 32 ACT, school does not calculate GPA, but probably around 3.8 UW with lots of rigor. Very strong leadership - 4 year varsity starter and captain of 3 sports, president of 2 clubs and 2 year class president. Legacy. We could not be more thrilled!! Congrats to all!!

@xyz123a which school accepted to?

Congrats. Class president legacy and that uw gpa are hard to ignore. Give her a high five on the hard work paying off.

@collegemomjam Accepted to MCAS

I got in (MCAS) 1460 superscored sat and 3.76 unweighted gpa ( school doesn’t weight or rank) I think my weighted gpa is about a 4.22. I’ve taken 5.5 aps throughout high school (only one semester of stats), xc team captain and I’d say pretty solid essays. I didn’t see anything about the number of students accepted ED but am curious to know!

@privatebanker - thanks! She is so grateful for the opportunity to study at BC and I am so happy that she will follow in my footsteps!

The facilities are so much better than even 10 years ago. And with Schiller going in.

I have a feeling the mods will be a part of history soon.

@privatebanker. >>>>I have a feeling the mods will be a part of history soon<<<<

Whoaaaaaa there private banker- The mods are “permanently temporary”… We hear the alum are behind the mods 100% and that’s a line in the sand the administration wont cross…Lets hope…Yes, we desperately need more housing, but where? Any idea what the future holds for the former athletic center property? I can envision another 200-300 units there.

I was deferred last year. I got in RD and now attend the school. The main thing is just to keep up your grades through the end of first semester and into second semester senior year, and to send your admissions officer a letter of continued interest in the winter/spring.

The Mods!!! My daughter lived there last year and I cannot even begin to tell you what move out day was like after senior week…And they were supposed to come down when I was there in the late 80’s. But all of the new buildings are beautiful and the campus really is so nice.

Ok. Maybe half the mods come down lol. I heard they are buying a few yachts and will float them in the res next year for excess housing. But AJ Dillon gets to choose who gets a room.

For ED, do most students who are not accepted get deferred or do most get denied?

This is BC’s first year with ED so there are so many unknowns.

Does anyone know if they received more or less ED1 applications than they expected?

Accepted. Very happy. 33 ACT 4.9 GPA. Catholic school. Student body Pres. High service hours. Very active overall. Kairos leadership.

We heard from a reliable source, 1,750 ED1 applied, anticipated 1,500, accepted 25% of the class, 575 range.

I think I said 550. If that’s true how about that guess. Lol.

Those numbers indicate a 33 percent admit rate Ed. That’s very selective. I thought 37 to 40 percent as a guess.

deferred. 33 ACT. 4.7 GPA.

Lots of deferrals end up accepted. Hang in there. It was a 33 percent admit rate purportedly for ED. That’s crazy competitive.
