Boston College Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision

Class of 2023 was on target at 2300. The forced triples have been a thing for >35 yrs, nothing new, varying slightly in number with class size of course. Some freshman triples will always exist unless additional new dorms are built. Triples are only on Upper, not Newton. The chance of being put in a triple is always there unless one opts for Newton, maybe via LLC, not sure.

The big overenrolled class was class of 2021 at 2400, for which they had to shuffle dorms a bit (an upper sophomore dorm became freshmen, or had freshmen floors or something). I have no idea how they fit 2400 for class of 2024, it is kind of amazing - maybe some portion got permission to take all online classes? that would make sense.

They say they do not consider demonstrated interest, so I don’t know about the scholarship thing. But if not, I always wonder what, exactly, goes into the yield algorithm.

Might be a good nugget for some of the posters in this thread to stash in the back of their minds - if you end up in a triple, less-is-more when it comes to how much stuff you bring to school. Space is tight.

With Covid, BC has eliminated all of the forced triples. Not sure what the plan will be for next year. All of the kids who were supposed to be on study abroad are being housed over at Pine Manor – the school they bought out last year.

Anybody know if they’re still accepting supplemental documents? Like will they still review my resume if I submit it on my portal now?

I was trying to provide extra award documents, but they do not accept anything from applicants. Everything must be official.

It’s just my resume and you can submit that yourself on your portal, I’m just wondering if they’ll still consider it

You can upload your resume yourself. D did that and let her admissions officer know and he said he would add it to her file and was happy to do so. That was early Jan though. I say do it now. It can’t hurt and maybe it will still get into your file in time.

Yes I submitted about two days ago, I emailed but did not receive a reply yet

I emailed my rep an update around a week ago and they haven’t responded. does this mean that they can’t add it to my application or that they just haven’t responded

I also emailed my rep about 3 weeks ago with an update and she hasn’t answered me either.

I didn’t upload my parents W2 form and tax form in my agora portal yet and it said to best be submitted by 2/1. It’s already past 2/1 and will this affect my admission process

oh wow I never knew we even had to upload anything besides fafsa and css profile
 I should probably do that

Yea I didn’t know until today but do u think it affects admission process?

No, if BC is need-blind it won’t affect your admissions process. The two offices don’t communicate with each other. It could, however, affecting the timing of your financial aid award notification if applicable. Good luck!

If I was deferred from the business school can I change to the Morrissey school for the regular decision pool?

Email your rep and ask

BC website says “Regular Decision applicants will be notified of their admission decision no later than April 1.”

So somewhere says RD decisions start getting out this week? If so, I guess it is rolling.

I am pretty sure they meant the week of March 22nd

Your daughter should have received an email on 2/8 that says,
“Your admission decision will be available in your Applicant Status Portal during the week of March 22; the specific date on which we will release decisions will be shared with you via email during the week of March 15, so please check your email at that time.”
