Class of 2023 was on target at 2300. The forced triples have been a thing for >35 yrs, nothing new, varying slightly in number with class size of course. Some freshman triples will always exist unless additional new dorms are built. Triples are only on Upper, not Newton. The chance of being put in a triple is always there unless one opts for Newton, maybe via LLC, not sure.
The big overenrolled class was class of 2021 at 2400, for which they had to shuffle dorms a bit (an upper sophomore dorm became freshmen, or had freshmen floors or something). I have no idea how they fit 2400 for class of 2024, it is kind of amazing - maybe some portion got permission to take all online classes? that would make sense.
They say they do not consider demonstrated interest, so I donât know about the scholarship thing. But if not, I always wonder what, exactly, goes into the yield algorithm.
Might be a good nugget for some of the posters in this thread to stash in the back of their minds - if you end up in a triple, less-is-more when it comes to how much stuff you bring to school. Space is tight.
With Covid, BC has eliminated all of the forced triples. Not sure what the plan will be for next year. All of the kids who were supposed to be on study abroad are being housed over at Pine Manor â the school they bought out last year.
You can upload your resume yourself. D did that and let her admissions officer know and he said he would add it to her file and was happy to do so. That was early Jan though. I say do it now. It canât hurt and maybe it will still get into your file in time.
I emailed my rep an update around a week ago and they havenât responded. does this mean that they canât add it to my application or that they just havenât responded
I didnât upload my parents W2 form and tax form in my agora portal yet and it said to best be submitted by 2/1. Itâs already past 2/1 and will this affect my admission process
No, if BC is need-blind it wonât affect your admissions process. The two offices donât communicate with each other. It could, however, affecting the timing of your financial aid award notification if applicable. Good luck!
Your daughter should have received an email on 2/8 that says,
âYour admission decision will be available in your Applicant Status Portal during the week of March 22; the specific date on which we will release decisions will be shared with you via email during the week of March 15, so please check your email at that time.â
