I have read these boards for a few months, and I decided that it would be worthwhile to finally post. I am interested in Political Science/History/Economics and wanted to know what people thought about either the U of R or BC, which are my top two choices? I am split at the moment, and would appreciate some feedback/thoughts…

…really? Unless U of Roch. is giving you a full ride+weekly stipend, I really don’t see this as a legitimate question.

Dear AJH-2009 : From a board score perspective, these two schools are nearly identical - BC is probably a shade higher, but we are talking a small margin. Rochester is strong in the sciences based on our experience - but from a department by department basis, I would still tip my scale towards Boston College.

Rochester is a nice campus, rolling hills and such, but honestly, campus location and design would tilt towards BC also. The decision between Boston and Rochester is … well … not really a fair fight.

Rochester does provide various merit scholarships (as opposed to pure financial aid) which might tip your decision.

He’s probably just a ■■■■■.

I promise you that I’m not a ■■■■■; I was interested in hearing the opinion of the board regarding this situation…

I am fully aware of how impressive an undergraduate experience Boston College can offer, as my parents both attended. However, taking into consideration the economy and the merit aid that U of R offers that BC does not, I thought that it would be a legitimate question. Anybody have knowledge of any of these departments at Boston College (Political Science, History, Economics)? I already know U of R is recognized because of its Political Science Department.
