^ Oh my God!!! That’s crazy!! :D

LOL wow i can’t believe you guys are bragging about this. I know more than a handful of people who gave up BC for UMass Amherst. So i’m not quite sure what you guys are getting at.

^ probably for financial reasons… haha

Well…I think Amherst > BC.
Don’t know about you UMass but I’m assuming it’s a great school as well.
I’m just more familiar with the UC system as I’m in California. ;)

Oopsies, I just realized Amherst IS a UMass school, like the Claremont Colleges.
Yeah, definitely Amherst over BC.

You may be confusing Amherst College with University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Ohhhh!
Got it.
I was talking about Amherst College, and as for University of MA Amherst, I don’t know about it but I’m assuming it would be a great school as well. Thanks for the info!!

UMass Amherst and Amherst College are both in Amherst, Massachusetts. They are separate schools. One is a public university, the other is a private liberal arts college.

I know a friend who is going to Amherst College, and a ton of people from my school are headed for UMass Amherst, simply because it was the cheapest option for them.

definetly go with BC…it’s way better academically, better location, nicer campus, and just better overall experience.

As far as amherst vs BC…amherst has more “geeky” kids and is very academically focused if you will, whereas BC is more for kids who were captain of a sporting team and are still smart.

I assume the OP has weeks ago made his/her decision, but I chose BC over some other very good schools because BC just plain fit, and had exactly what I wanted. I could not be happier and more excited and more sure that my choice is the right one for me, and that’s what counts. I can see people’s points when they tell me they would have made a different choice than the one I made, but it is just one aspect of the whole equation. I don’t claim to know what fits for anyone else, any more than I can tell everyone on here that they must have mint chocolate chip ice cream because it is the best flavor. It really comes down to personal opinion in the end.

// End of boring restatement of the obvious

^ I chose BC over a few “better” (higher-ranked) schools, as well. I knew it was the right choice, but I thought that at some point I’d feel at least a little buyer’s remorse… but nope. BC is just looking better and better!

Hey guys, I was the OP and I am super excited to be a Golden Eagle at BC next year!
