Boston College Waitlist 2025

I saw that too! Do you guys think that this year will be a similar case, like pulling kids off the waitlist before May 1st?

I know there was an issue with BC last year - their got their yield off so took a lot more kids off the WL than normal. This is my sons top choice - he took a gap year and has been a remote TA for Boston Public schools. He wanted to increase his SAT (which he did by 350 points) but looks like that may have been a waste of time anyway. WL are really hard.

I think you are right about it being an anomaly

So my son is putting in his LOC. He also had another Letter of Recommendation which explains what he has been doing during his Gap year as a remote TA for Boston Public schools. I know that dont encourage or ask for these. But it really shows what he has been doing this year and is really pretty impressive. He was thinking of sending it to just his admissions counselor. But he is wanting options!

Anyone hear anything?

Not yet, but I feel like the earliest we could hear back is April 28th, just based off of last year’s thread.

I find it strange that last year they said multiple times they weren’t releasing decisions until after May 1, but then they released early…

I think it’s a way to manage expectations…if they release early it’s a bonus, if they release on time then it’s what they said all along.

Did everyone write the LocI?

If BC is one of my top choices and I’ve already told another school that I will attend if admitted off their waitlist, should/can I still send a LOCI to BC?

Our promise in response to the wail-list is “we will attend if it is affordable”.

It doesn’t hurt to send a LOCI to BC, but personally, I would not tell them that you would ‘attend if admitted’ if you told another school that. I did send LOCI to other colleges I was waitlisted at, but I only told BC that I would ‘attend if admitted’, and I told the other colleges that they were still a top choice for me, but did not explicitly say that I would go if I got in.

thank you!

My daughter is planning to send LOCI but still waiting on her school’s other awards. She just got a letter where they said she was name a state scholar. And she was nominated for Math, English and Science awards, she is a semifinalist, so it is all pending. So she is waiting to send all of that along with her LOCI. This is so stressful!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give you guys an update but I sent in my LOCI this past weekend and I emailed my AO just to let him know I submitted it. He actually emailed me back and he never has before, but he said that he really enjoyed my letter, and asked me if I completed my financial application. I don’t want to get my hopes up but is asking if I completed my financial application stuff good?

Do you have any tips for LOCI?

Thank you!

I’ll just talk about what I did but, first I reintroduced myself, just because it’s nice to give them a little refresher as to who you are. Then I talked about activities and classes I was really excited to be apart of/take. Then I moved onto all my new activities that I did not mention in my original application. Like I joined a charity club, which shows my love for philanthropy, I have multiple panels at my school where I speak to the younger kids about tips for college applications, and a lot more other activities. I also thanked him for reconsidering my application again, and I made it very clear that if admitted off the waitlist, that I would attend.

Okay, thanks!!! I really appreciate it
