Hey, I agree with mislysBB that BU might need to value more your EC’s and other credentials than college GPA. And since you are a sophomore, your high school performance and standardized test scores have turned to be meaningless in your application. But don’t worry, you’ll never know what the result will be in the end!
I am so sorry for your lost @mislysBB .
And it is totally up to you whether you want to tell BU the fact or not. However, I think they will definitely understand you better after knowing what you have been through.
Be strong!
Hey everyone! The woman in admissions told me we would find out the first or second week of April so I keep checking the site every hour haha so hopefully soon!
Here are my stats… what does everyone think of my chances?
I’m a 24 year old female at a 2 year school in New Jersey
GPA: 3.82
EC/Clubs: I’ve done some volunteer work recently, but not much, history club, national honor society, national business honor society, my school’s business club/society
Job: I’ve worked at Ann Taylor Loft as an associate and a manager and I’ve been there since I graduated high school in 2008 so the fact that I clearly have good work ethic and I have a job might make up for only having a few ECs
HS GPA: 3.6
Mid Year Report: As in all 5 courses
I was going to apply for the business school but I decided to go to COM for advertising instead (I did not have enough math courses bc I really hate it lol) and the admissions person told me that might hurt me if I apply to their business school. I think my essay was very strong and people who read it said it was very meaningful and seemed genuine.
I also only applied to Rutgers Business School when I submitted my application. I just finally now applied to a second school in Boston but I did not want to apply to too many schools bc I want BU to know that I want to go to them and only them and that if I were accepted, I would definitely attend. One thing I am a little nervous about is that I would require a lot of financial aid bc I have no financial support from my family and do not make a lot of money since I work part time. I think that may hurt my chances a bit.
Let me know everyone thanks!
@triple2s Thanks! I’m crossing my fingers and hoping this time around I’ll get in. Good luck to you guys as well!
@mislysBB I’m so sorry for your loss. I agree with Triple2s that BU would definitely understand the situation completely. Your GPA looks pretty regardless!
Hello everyone! I just received an acceptance from one of the other schools I applied to…(not my first choice) but still! This is a good sign that we’re getting closer to finding out!!!
@jlm1234 congrats! what school?
@JLM1234 Congrats!!
@jlm1234 oh cool i also applied there. What major did you apply for? I haven’t heard back from them yet.
@sikcjor I applied into Management but if I go there I will do a second concentration in Health and Industry. What did you apply for? And did you apply to any other schools? I also applied to Northeastern. Best of luck to you! I’m sure you will hear back soon!
@jlm1234 I applied for finance, and the same for northeastern. And yeah, i also applied to babson college and fordham, hoping to hear back soon. best of luck to you too!
@Triple2s, @Maggie924210, thank for your condolences.
I am pretty sure BU has a general idea, since my mom passing affects my financial aid situation.
I am hopeful that my GPA is good enough. I know COM is one of the more competitive schools to get in to, but I am crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
Did anyone receive an email from Registrar Office for credits evaluation today?
@WSneijder Yes, I did about a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully, it increases our chances of admissions.
I called the Admission Office today. She said they sent this email to all transfer students.
@WSneijder You are right, everyone received the email.
what did the email say?
Can someone chance me? Please idk how my chances are !!

Hi guys! I also applied for transfer for the fall and was just wondering if anyone else got an email from IDOC today? My school doesn’t require it and it says on the email that another school I applied to wants it. Was just wondering if maybe it was a BU thing or what. When I asked financial aid they said they only require it for accepted students?
