Hi guys!
I am planning on majoring in biology and I am trying to decide which school will best prepare me for medical school in the future. I will greatly appreciate your opinions on these schools: Boston University, Wake Forest, Binghamton
Please evaluate them in:
Academic
Campus life/setting
Dorm

I would absolutely pick Wake. How is money looking for all three places? Obviously that will have a huge influence, but if it’s a non-issue, Wake would be my choice.

I have to pay about $5300 for BU with aid. Wake Forest is more expensive than BU, about $19000 with aid which isn’t terrible but it’s the location that is making me undecisive about where I should go. I live in NY which is about 9 hours away from NC-(wake forest)…

Academically they should all suit your goals. As well as campus and residential life, I think Wake will be in a different class than the other two given it’s national student body, “real” campus, and vibrant campus life. There are certainly a lot of New Yorkers and northeasterners at Wake, so you could catch a ride as needed, but then students don’t go to a campus like Wake Forest intending to leave on weekends. As a college town Winston-Salem isn’t Boston, but with a population of 200,000 it certainly offers more than Bingamton, NY.

Money aside, I would personally choose Wake Forest in a heartbeat. Considering finances…I don’t know how much of a deal an extra $14K a year would be for your family.

Academically, I’d go with Wake. Dorms, I have no idea. “Campus life”, Wake. Weather, Wake. Sports, Wake. Wake’s campus is gorgeous, and BU doesn’t really have a campus. When I went to visit, I was told that it’s on a 2-3 mile stretch. If money isn’t an issue, I’d DEFINITELY go with Wake. Both are good schools that will prepare you for med school, though.

I don’t know too much about Binghamton. My best friend is going there, and she absolutely loved it when she visited.
