My friend has trouble deciding between Boston University and UCONN. I know most of you would say, BU just because its more prestigious.

BU is a really good school and a lot different than UConn. UConn will have better parties, academics are on the rise, and plus its a whole lot cheaper. On the other hand, BU is one of the best schools in the Northeast with a amazing location and has great profs.

THey're both party schools and good academically, But the surrounding area of BU is amazing plus its a college town how many schools are in that area. I would say that if she doesn't want to graduate with a mountain of debt then go to UCONN.

did you just say "Bu is one of the best schools in the Northeast" and "has great profs" and "good academically"? Sorry hunny, none of those are true. BU is definately not that good of a school, and I would be ashamed if I went there. Plus, their housing sucks (I live in Boston so I know what I'm talking about)

Paul, it may not be Harvard or MIT or what have you but it is a great school. If money is an issue, Uconn is still a good school, BU does not give much scholarship money.

Paul that was a little extreme, BU is a very good school and a lot of people would love to go to it and for a lot of them it's dream school. We all can't be a genius the moment we are born. UConn's surroundig area is pretty bad, 20-30 min from any civilization but they have awesome parties so you will always be busy if you wanna party.

It depends. One of my friends went to Boston U on a scholarship (National Achievement), and it was cheaper than the flagship public would have been. Does she know for sure that Boston U would be more expensive?

If she hasn't visited make sure she visits both schools. Both schools are EXTREMELY different. I live in CT and remember that a lot of UConn kids will be in staters if that makes an difference. Also, there is nothing to do in Storrs.
