Boston University Fall 2017 Transfer

I think we still have a chance but this wait is ridiculous. I’ve heard back from all my other colleges weeks ago.

Has anyone called to see whats going on?

Yes i called, they said they will inform us on the portal by mid june by the latest

@LinkandZelda have you heard back yet?

@koreanincali no I’m still waiting. How about you?

My portal changed to 2 paragraphs, hopefully a decision is coming soon

Mine changed too. Hopefully good news

Anyone else changed? @uktranferstudent @koreanincali

My portal changed to two paragraphs too!!! I wish everyone a positive decision!!

I got denied

Rejected. Well. 3.9 GPA all for nothing. Good luck to the rest of you.

Rejected; I wasn’t expecting anything good by now but oh well.

Does anyone know when we can apply for transfer again?

Also Rejected, I knew it was a reach but hate the fact that I had to wait this long.

@LinkandZelda I’m assuming the Fall 2018 semester is when we can apply for admission again.

@TheBrady6 I think that BU accepts Spring admits!

They do accept spring transfers. But can you apply in the spring after you’re rejected? Or do you have to complete another year before eligible to applying again.

acceptted!!! To the college of engineering

Hey I have a question, did you have any extra curriculars @LinkandZelda

@LinkandZelda So sorry to hear that. If you were transfering as a junior, you know that universities accept students in sophomore and junior year, no later. Because to obtain a diploma with BU on it, you need to complete 4 semesters there. So if you continue in your actual school, it means you won’t have enough semesters left to graduate at BU.
BUT, I don’t know the American system well. I think the better would be to ask for a meeting with a transfer counselor from BU and share your thoughts ; to look at your file with him or her and discuss your chances for Spring for example. The other solution I see is to pursue your bachelor where you are right now, to finish it, and to apply later for a master at BU or somewhere else. There are severall good universities and programs for finances in the area. You can also get a job after graduation and follow an MBA or other program at night. (I am talking about MBA because it looks like everybody wants to have that kind of diploma) I have colleagues who are registered at BU, on evening classes, for a MBA. Anyway, if BU is where you want to end up, call them, meet with them and discuss your options.
To the others, same advice, contact them. It’s better to meet them in person to improve your chances for a transfer next year.
Good luck !

@catlalib thank you for that advice. I’m still unsure of what to do at this point. I think most likely what I’m gonna do is to finish my bachelors at my current institution And pursue an MBA at BU later. I don’t want to waste a year of my life and possibly be in more debt from transfer and wasting a year worth of credits. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.

@shenaiya I did have plenty of extra curricular. Including Residence’s assistant, working at deans office, Member of clubs etc. they’re just not willing to overlook my horrendous high school grades.
