Boston University RD 2023

@imdying123 you should be fine. mine said the same thing and all my grades are sent in

got the thank you message, but I don’t think it means anything

I don’t believe that the CGS is harder to get into… my admissions counselor said something along the lines of that if I had BU as my first choice, putting that down as an option to go into in addition to the school I applied to (COM) it would be like getting a second chance at getting into BU (if that makes sense lol). From all the people I have talked to who put that down as an option, I haven’t actually heard of any rejections yet from the CGS program but I am sure there are some out there.

Hey not sure if this helps because it might not be be same for RD but u was an ED 1 applicant and we got the decisions back at around 3pm

As an international student, I am not required to submit my SAT. However, I still did because I am going for the presidential scholarship. Would they look just for my scholarship or for deciding my admission too?

@prad14 International students are required to submit SAT/ACT scores unless you are completing the full IB outside the US.

Plus international students must provide financials of support before admissions can decide and surprised that they offered it to International students

@TomSrOfBoston. Yes, I am doing the full IB outside the US. Sorry, I thought it was not required for everybody. I was still wondering though, would they consider the SAT I submitted just for the scholarship or also my admission?

How does BU look at demonstrated interest? How important is it to them? How do they evaluate it? I saw in the common data set that they categorize it as “important” which is unusual for schools to do.

@bygbyrd every school loves demonstrated interest. But it’s part of always total package. A strong demonstrated interest would be ED1 or ED2.

@bygbyrd I also wrote an email of continued interest to the board of admissions after being deferred ED2 and applying to 2 schools and 1 program to give more options. also, while being deferred I sent in a bunch of stuff to strengthen my application so that shows interest as well. in addition, campus visits and interest meetings are also interest and BU keeps track of that.

for BU specifically, I heard interest is super important and they really consider it while making a decision.

Do we think decisions will be released tomorrow??

@hannah1789 BU has said that decisions will be released on Saturday.

I’m sure this has already been discussed, so if someone can even just lmk which post discussed the timing of BUs release, that’d be great! Have they said when they’ll release the decisions, time wise, or any speculation?

@applying2023 all they’ve said is that decisions will be out on the 23rd! but someone in this thread said that there is speculation that it will come out at around 8 am then

Threads from previous years said their decisions were released at 8:00 am (some said they got them as early as 7:30), but there hasn’t been any official info from BU about the time anticipated for this year’s release. Perhaps they’ll post an update tomorrow!

@artdreamer what time zone?

@123california It was eastern-- so super early for you if you’re in California! But I don’t know if it’s the same this year, so don’t get up early needlessly!

My portal changed from record indicates to thank you message today. I think a decision has been made.
