*boston university rd class of 2020 thread*

“rejects” from UCLA are in GREAT, talented, accomplished, passionate company, there are hords of them. Mine among them. This is great opportunity to practice the old bounce back that helps us get through life, eh. Glad they put it out there early so kids can get beyond it and look other options in the eye.

Rejected, alongside a rejection from Northeastern.
Somewhat surprised. Thought I had a decent chance to get in.
3.6 UW GPA. Huge upward trend, low GPA freshman year, 4.0 for sophomore and junior, 3.9 senior.
1970 SAT, which is on the lower side (yet a classmate got in with 1710).
10 AP classes, AP Scholar w/ Distinction.
Good essays
Presumably good recs.
Light on the extracurricular side, but two years of work experience, averaging 17hours per week due to financial reasons.

I’ve only got two more college decisions, NYU and USC. Doesn’t look particularly bright now.

Accepted! But no merit aid and very little financial aid, so I won’t be going because it is way too expensive. Congrats to everyone else who got in!

Got in
Accepted in college of arts and science
Act 29
Major: Biology
Anyone got in biology major?

Welp. Rejected from BU, UCLA, and UC Davis so far.

3.5 GPA, huggee upward trend
2200 SAT score
9/10 Essay, great LORs, great ECs

I guess I should start looking into my safeties…

@ajdhfh Don’t get too discouraged; you probably have a couple of acceptances in your hands. What state are you from? USC is very, very difficult–it has become very popular (partially due to so many California kids not being able to get into the UC – such as UCLA – or state systems (taking full pay out of state or international students instead) that they are applying to USC and other California private colleges. I mention this because if you don’t get into USC, you should not take it personally. My D more than qualifies, but we have our strong doubts she’ll get in. We are in the San Francisco area.

Accepted with kilachand! Wasn’t awarded any merit though, so this place isn’t really worth all that money to me :-/

Has anyone received news about the Trustee scholarship?

Accepted to Questrom w/ 3.6UW and 2170 SAT

@lynjobes USC was my “far-out” reach. I had assumed BU, Northeastern, and NYU would be targets, and my counselor said the same. Unfortunately its not working out that way at the moment. I have two acceptances from my safeties UCF and RIT (I’m from Florida), however I’m still not too thrilled with it, as I was banking on the target schools.

Just got accepted today with a ton of financial aid which I am extremely excited about. My stats are okay, (3.8 GPA, 28 ACT, full IB diploma candidate, normal amount of extracurricular activities, regular service, etc) but I did express a lot of interest in my essay since I LOVED the city and was interested in doing Behavioral Neuroscience which is why I was probably accepted. Best of luck to everyone else on your college search though.

Interesting…my D was waitlisted. It makes NO sense. We were told she met all criteria. Now nervous for the others we are still waiting on!

My D was waitlisted and has almost identical stats…what state are you from?

Rejected

1650 SAT and 3.0 GPA. All my dream Universities have rejected me. I’m a disappointment to my parents and I have to repeat high school where nobody cares about me and I’m alone.

Accepted to CAS w/ the Presidential Scholarship!

@Creator104 There are always colleges that do rolling admissions and community colleges that will give you a chance. Don’t give up! Just because you didn’t get in your dream colleges it doesn’t mean that there’s no hope.

Accepted to CAS! Very excited!

DD accepted to SHA. S denied from COM.

DD:
UW GPA 3.71
W GPA: 4.35
31 ACT
Job and internship in hospitality

S:
UW GPA: 3.04
W GPA: 3.63
30 ACT

BU accepted presidential scholarship for national hispanic recognition. Applied for Computer Science in CAS, I don’t remember if you go into like a first-year CAS thing though. Anyone know?

Waitlisted - College of Engineering
ACT : 29
UW gpa: 4.0 (a strange calculation from an international hs)

I heard that there were VERY LITTLE chances of been accepted on waitlist??

Also to @Creator104 Don’t do that dude!!! You got a nice stats & there’s still a lot of opportunities waiting for you. I got 3 rejections & 1 waitlist in only two days but I NEVER lose hope on that. Cheer UP!
