Should we fill out the housing app even if we’re not totally committed?

I think you have to commit and enroll and submit your deposits before you submit the housing app

I applied before the merit aid deadline but I don’t see a Merit Decision on my portal. Does this mean I didn’t get any merit or that they have not made a decision yet (I’m wondering because I saw others who did not receive Merit still had the Merit Decision page pop up with a letter)? I also applied for Tuition Exchange through my father’s employer, I have no idea if that has any effect…

Your merit decision page should have a letter/statement with some type of result. If it doesn’t have anything (as in no words at all), I would definitely call @extrapeppermint

Accepted to CAS with Presidential scholarship!

Congrats! What were your stats @tenniskid98

I got accepted to BU. Unfortunately I sent in my CSS PROFILE a week after their deadline (FAFSA was early, and I started the CSS at the same time, but had a lot of issues with it due to non-custodial parent crap), so unfortunately I get zero money from BU. The note said something like “we had no more money to allocate to students”. Pretty disappointed, but not surprised.
I didn’t apply for the scholarships, mainly because I knew I wouldn’t get it. I’m pretty average for BU, 3.5 UWGPA, all honors/AP (took the most my school had to offered), 1970 SAT. I’m also a URM. They supposedly had no more money, so what can you do?

Applied to CAS, moved to CGS. Not attending. The College of General Studies is tiny, and the classes are b*******. I would be behind on my planned pre-med track. They don’t even offer Chem 101. CGS is a waste of time and 65K and I don’t know who in their right mind would enroll their. I’ll be attending the Honors College at the University of Alabama where I’ll be respected and appreciated as a student. To anyone excited about CGS, please read up before making a decision.

Anyone know how housing works for Presidential? We get priority on dorm choice but I wonder how much priority

@willd23 don’t rip on CGS just because you didn’t get into your department of choice. There are plenty of people in the program who love it (who actually post on this thread) and a lot of the people accepted to it are probably thrilled. Just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t mean people who enroll aren’t “in their right mind.”

Accepted to the COE (biomed end) with the presidential scholarship and an invitation for Kilichand!!! Very excited! They are still working on my financial aid but with the scholarship it might be affordable with some grants.
If anyone wants to hear my stats just let me know

@fishgill where was your invitation to Kilichand?

I applied RD for Physical Therapy and was rejected. I have a 3.75 UW/ 4.61 W GPA and stellar grades with 7 AP courses (all with A’s) but my SAT score was an 1800 (super scored) because I’m a horrible test taker (especially standardized tests). I am a Silver Knight Candidate from Florida, a Hispanic female, and have 1300+ community service hours. I also got declined from Northeastern and Boston College. All the other colleges that I applied to were reaches: Tulane, Brown, Dartmouth, UVA. So I basically got into 0 of my colleges. I have some safety schools that I applied to, but they are not my ideal colleges. It seems they will be my only options. I’m devastated because I have literally worked my butt off for 4 years and to no success. At all. I was not even wait-listed, just flat out rejected. Idk what to do at this point but to leave it all in God’s hands.

@jackisawesome under decisions, it says “Kilachand Honors College Welcome”

@goldenchina As a mom, my heart goes out you you! You seem like a wonderful young lady, who is very intelligent and focused. Do not be discouraged, and I am certain you will do well no matter what school you ultimately attend.

@Jules821 Thank you for the kind words, ma’am. Unfortunately I just checked the Tulane login and got rejected from there too. I can only hope this is all happening for a reason far greater than I can understand. :-S

@willd23 don’t bash CGS just because you’re bitter. you can take chem 101 while in CGS, my roommate is doing it right now. maybe you should try “reading up” before you jump to conclusions.

Do you guys know if it’s possible to transfer within BU from one college to another before I even attend BU?

@lolog123 I don’t think so. I think you have to have completed some semesters at BU beforehand

@goldenchina :frowning: darn lol
