my exact same situation. They were generous but I need A LOT of generosity

I got in but…I got into CGS. I didn’t even realize that I said yes for CGS. Is it possible to transfer to Questrom school of business?

For those who feel they received insufficient financial aid how does it compare with what the BU NPC said? The FAFSA EFC is irrelevant at BU.

After you complete the two year CGS program you can transfer, not before.

To add - this has been the toughest/ most unpredictable year in the history of admissions. Please do not be tough on yourself. Many heart breaks all around. Best wishes to you. You will end up where it is best for you.

I’m aware but my family assets are close to none and my father is basically unemployed so maybe they could take that into consideration cause we put it in the css

That is ridiculous! She definitely should have been admitted outright. Unless she came off as a total jerk in her application (which I’m sure she did not), this is yield protection.

wow that’s so weird
I thought they really met everyone’s need
They have me $74k in aid and I have to just pay 5K a year which is pretty good
I mean ill probs have to take out a loan for that but they gave a lot

I get it- we have one at Cornell, same concept. Coming from Connecticut with the high state income tax we are screwed. I think that waitlist is going to open up very fast with the tuition being as high as it is

That’s awesome to hear, congrats!

In several recent years BU has been overenrolled and did not go to the waitlist at all.

You can write a formal financial aid appeal. As a college consultant I do them with kids all the time. Be detailed in what you need and the gap that you need to close.

Or she came off as an applicant who was using BU as a safety.

Rejected with a 5.5 waited GPA and valedictorian… all of those advanced courses and ECs. Yield protection once again.

Yes is you are waitlisted. No if you are denied.

How does it with CGS + 6 week london so you start in Jan2022 and junior year you go into Computer science ?

Why the fees says 39k something that’s 2 semester fee in Jan-2022?

Oh ok thank you. Yeah cuz i got waitlisted.

You can take 4 CAS courses while in the CGS program.

The $39,000 is tuition, room and board for the spring semester only.

Although how you complete 16 credits in 6 weeks while exploring London and England is beyond me.

Is Fall 2022 a done deal? I prefer BU-COM to my second choice (Syracuse-Newhouse) but if I have to wait a year, is it worth it? If I got BU for even spring I might be more inclined to take it. But Fall 2022 makes it a very tough decision.

If you were offered guaranteed sophomore transfer they you have to wait until Fall 2022 to enroll.

If you are accepted to Newhouse you would be wrong not to accept it and flourish there.
