Boston university transfer fall 2020

@corinnaolson There should be a proof of graduation in the HS transcript, if not then you must send them both separately.

Hello has does anyone have all of their materials in? As in BU has updated all of the info and there is nothing left on their checklist.

Yeah my whole checklist is empty.

Great thanks for the info. Is where the 3 paragraphs come in play or is this later in the process

If my application shown proof of graduation has not yet received, but they receive my final high school transcript then is that mean I have everything in?

@transferr2020 yes, I called them the other day and I was told that if your hs transcript is received then your proof of graduation should be too.

BU just finished updating my checklist. The only thing I am missing is the CSS Profile for the non-custodial parent

Hey Guys, can anyone explain what is meant when others say 2 paragraphs vs 3 paragraphs?

Thanks?

@ahy2000 anyone can feel free to correct if I am wrong but I believe when you have three paragraphs it means that they are in the process of reviewing your application. And when you have two I believe it means that they are going to release their decision soon. I could be wrong of course but after reading past forums I believe that is how it is. Also do you have 3 paragraphs now?

where do you see this on your portal? the paragraphs?

Where can you see the 2 or 3 paragraphs?

Yes

Where did you see those paragraphs on your portal?

Where can you see it*

The paragraphs should be on your portal but I’m not sure if its up now I would presume later in April.

@california203 hey man, so sorry, I know this is late but I never got a notification, I got my decision early April(Altho things may be delayed for you guys slightly because Ik our school staff was more focused on making decisions in regards to class cancellation and stuff like that)

As for my stats: I applied for CAS CS major as an incoming sophomore

I applied from a state school and had a 4.0 GPA, SAT was a 1390 and almost nonexistent extracurriculars in high school, but I did a lot more in college

College extracurriculars:
. I was on the managing team for a cs/entrepreneurship club at my school and it was the only club in the school ran by a faculty member, we also have many alumni’s in the club so club is ran differently
. I also worked on a cs project with 2 professors, an alumni, and some other students on prototyping some kind of software/hardware combination to develop a product to help people who need vision assistance(think elderly and people who are almost blind), my letter of rec was from a professor who mentored me during the project and the professor who ran the club so it should be pretty good
. Aside from those, I also participated in ~3ish hackathons to develop personal projects and the sorts so I talked about it in my app and how I’d like to continue that at bu

Side note: a few of my friends are transfers and one thing for sure is that we all have high GPAs, 4.0 is very common but almost all have a 3.8+

Lmk if I missed anything or if u have other questions !

How important is it to do the credit evaluation request? I am a sophomore so finding all of my course syllabi is difficult.

From my understanding the credit evaluation has nothing to do with your actual admission decision. It’s just that if you are admitted and do not submit your syllabi, the amount of possible credits you can transfer decreases. (I could be wrong tho)

Does anyone know if we are required to or if it is preferred that we submit mid-term reports?

I applied as a transfer last year and only found out May 14th. I got in my senior year and did quite well my freshman year of university, yet that being said the earlier waves of decisions tend to be acceptances. Also, when you see your paragraph going to two paragraphs then that means that there is roughly 24 hours until your decision is released. Good luck everyone!
