under what tab do you see how many paragraphs you have and what are the paragraphs?
@beanster765 I may be out of the loop but what do you mean by paragraphs? Where could I see those?
I believe they are referring to the three paragraphs that appear after BU has accepted all of the application materials. I don’t think it has been updated to three paragraphs yet on anyone’s portal, but once it does it should be under application status. In general, it goes application materials → three paragraphs → two paragraphs, which indicates that BU has made a decision regarding your application and you will receive an update soon. It may also help to get a timeline from last year’s transfer forum. Good luck!
Does anyone know if putting something in the optional additional information section in the common app affects anything?
Anyone hear anything back yet? Went to check the portal last night and saw it was down, so maybe sometime this week we’ll start to get some news?
@LNK1999 Nope not me. I dont have the paragraphs either hbu?? Does anyone have paragraphs? I feel as if its too early but who knows?
idk if this helps, but according to last year’s fall transfer forum, acceptances started coming out on April 4 and came out in waves until after June 1. however, i would also anticipate our decisions to come out a bit later with covid-19 and everything.
@marlon01 no, not yet. However, I submitted my transcripts and other documents before my application and they still haven’t added them to my portal so I kind of just assumed nothing would change before decisions come out, lol. @gmedeiros09 and that’s definitely helpful! Hopefully they’re still on track somewhat.
just got my rejection email from U of Rochester… feeling a bit discouraged and nervous for BU’s email
anyone else in the same boat?
I know I’m a little late to the party but I am applying to transfer to BU as well! I submit my app second week of Feb, applied to CAS (English Major), My stats are GPA: 3.45, and I never took any standardized testing because I’m transferring in after two full years at a Community college. My GPA is low but I had 3 letters of rec from professors one of which Is a BU PhD alum. Idk what other info you might want to know but feel free to ask if you wanna! Also, I don’t know how many paragraphs I have because I don’t understand that part at all haha
Are midterm reports necessary?
How much does high school gpa matter as a transfer student, also I have seen people talking about SAT and ACT scores, were we supposed to send them in, they never asked me about it
High school gpa matters less if you’re a sophomore/junior. SAT/ACT are optional. I called Admissions today and they said decisions might start coming out late April .
I don’t have the paragraphs yet but BU also hasn’t received all of my documents yet (even though I sent them 3+ weeks ago). Is anyone else in this boat? Should I email or just wait it out because there are likely delays due to COVID.
@corinnaolson I have similar situation. I called the admission about the request of Proof of Graduation because I have the graduation date on my HS transcript. They said I don’t need to submit the proof of graduation but they didn’t take this out from my portal. In addition, I didn’t submit a rec since it wasn’t listed on the admission’s website. They said I should submit one if I’m able to, the rec request is still on the portal.
Hi, I applied this year as a freshman and receieved guaranteed transfer for next year, if any of you are guaranteed transfers for the coming year can you please tell me if I should be expecting anything in the mail, or if all of that comes next year. Thanks!
@Wmd818 Im sorry I am confused you applied this year and you already received something saying you are guaranteed for next year? Im confused on how this works. Could explain please
Does anyone have any paragraphs and or everything checked off their lists?
I have everything checked off my list but do not have the paragraphs
Decisions will be released on a rolling basis beginning late April through May; that’s what they told me
