Yikes, this has got me worried! Anyone else experience the same change?
Mine changed to the 2 paragraph message at 7 PM last night, woke up this morning and saw the “Admission decisions will be posted on the ApplicantLink beginning in mid-April on a rolling basis. You will receive an email when your admission decision is available. The BU financial aid deadline was March 1.
Late CSS Profile and FAFSA applicants will be considered for BU scholarships depending on the availability of funding.” message on the homepage of the portal. When I click on my application status, the 2 paragraph message pops up. I’ve been stressing out about it too, today being a snow day for me hasn’t helped too. But there’s nothing we can really do about it until they release the decisions.
I think Bostontransfer raised a good point about how people that got rejected in the first wave probably wouldn’t want to post about it, and that has me worried too. But I do think it is pretty strange that the message is being posted so early this year compared to years past, which I have hope we’d be hearing back soon. I got into UMass Amherst over a month before they said application decisions would come out (I applied in December). Also, it seems like in June everyone was posting about their rejections in the thread, so I don’t think anyone really knows. Last year the message was posted for people and they were hearing back hours later, which has had my adrenaline pumping ever since I noticed the change.
My portal still says that my college transcript has not been sent in when it’s been forever since I sent it fingers crossed that it’s just a matter of them being slow with updating the portal. Wish they’d get to doing that sooner…
@koreanincali email or call them. That’s what I did
@pink418 oooh, who did you email? i’ve been emailing this one lady but all she keeps saying is that it will be updated soon and shes not very helpful…
@koreanincali I just emailed their undergraduate admissions department and they emailed back saying they had received it and the next day my portal was updated
Instead of 2 P i got 3 which says:

Does this mean I have to send in midterm report? This probably because I bombed high school esp senior year lol.
what are your stats? @r3j3ct3d1
I applied March 1st as a political science major. Because I went to two high schools before I moved they had wanted my second high school’s transcript but after I got that settled my portal updated to the same 2 paragraph response everyone else is receiving. I just got accepted to another university so now I’m super pumped to hear from Boston U.
Does anyone’s portal change to 2 paragraphs today?
@AnikaandAj what’re your stats!
@r3j3ct3d1 I’ve got the same three paragraphs since my application was completed. Was asked to send in syllabi, sending them in today. Guess that’s “further information” they need from me…
3.8 1st semester gpa, honors calc class (best class for incoming freshman)
good essays
1st gen
brother currently at BU
2060 sat, 800 math 1 and 2
83-84 overall highschool, 73 senior year lol
@OrangeHope18
Everyone is required to submit syllabi, don’t think that it has anything to do with your admission decision, it is for determining whether you receive credits. I also haven’t heard of BU requesting mid-term reports, but looking back at past year threads could help determine that.
@OrangeHope18 maybe thats the case, since I haven’t sent in my syllabus yet. I previously applied to Bu with my higschool email which has been terminated since and BU kept my old email under file thats why I haven’t been receiving emails from them. Maybe it is just the syallbus and not midterm grades.
I could be wrong, but from previous threads the first wave of admitted students aren’t asked for midterms. Usually they ask for midterms before making a decision for the later waves.
@Bostontransfer18 Yeah, I think those with the 2 paragraph message aren’t being asked for their mid-terms and are probably a part of the 1st wave.
Also, regarding high school stats, if you have over 30 credits, generally they aren’t a huge factor in the decision and are mainly used for proof of h.s. graduation.
@Bostontransfer18 @Miamitransfer @TransferFall2018 @mailbu Did you guys send in your syllabus yet?
@r3j3ct3d1 I did back in Jan. when they asked for it after I submitted my application.
@r3j3ct3d1 They sent an email out (everyone received it ) when I submitted my application, but I haven’t been asked to since. I’m waiting for a decision until I send them. I don’t believe its a requirement.
