I’ve been admitted to both schools and just want to know people’s opinions on both schools. I used to think that I wanted to go into international studies/political science, but now I’m leaning more towards history and/or business administration. Which school do you think offers stronger programs in these areas? What are some pros and cons for both of these schools? Are there good internship opportunities at both schools?
Also cost is about the same for both schools, so that is not a deciding factor.
If you think you might want to go into IR/poli sci, then American is the place to go given the schools strengths and location, internship opportunities, etc… I know people love Boston as a college town, but I think DC is a better city to live in. More campus structure. More temperate weather as well.
I’d suggest looking at the specifics of the business program at each school as far what you want to study. Also, I think at American you can just pick the undergrad business school after you get there, while at BU you might have to transfer in if you didn’t apply to it directly.
Also, I’m wondering how you’ve been accepted at both schools when both have ED, and not EA.
AU has cool combined programs for Business + something else (international affairs&languages, for instance). BU is likely stronger overall. BU doesn’t have a campus, American does. Their vibe is different, too.
Have you visited both?
For IR - American.
Other: BU.
Are you into the b-school at both universities? Is the price similar? Do you have a personal preference as to location, traditional campus etc?
I vote for Boston.
