Boston University vs USC

I recently got accepted as a transfer to USC from Boston University. I mostly did it because my parents went there and encouraged me to do it just to see. During my year at BU, I had just an okay time. I'm originally from the West Coast and definitely had to adjust to the East Coast culture. I do like Boston but never fully felt at home there. The winter was miserable and didn't get better till like the last week of school (mind you, I come from a cold place where it snows up to 5 feet, but gets warm by march). I found myself getting seasonal depression. However, I did make some really close friends that I really connected with, more so than friends I've had previously. Plus, during the fall semester walking around the city and going to the museums was really nice. Now I have to decide if I should return or go to USC. I know USC is generally a better school. I do want to end up on the West Coast, which I know USC would be better for. I just really don't know much about Los Angeles, USC, and the people. As a person, I'm more of an artsy individual. I couldn't care less about sports. I love music, films, art, etc. I'm just not sure how I'll fall into USC if I decide to transfer. So.. If anyone has any input on any of this, that would be great!

You might want to also post your thread on the College Search & Selection forum since it gets more traffic.

USC has its share of artsy people, but make no mistake a large portion of the student body are asians or preppy white kids from rich backgrounds.

I would say that USC is now ranked a top 25 university, on par with UCLA more or less, it’s a better school for post college because networking from USC is 2nd to none. The alumni network really brings the pro-USC attitude when hiring USC interns and USC grads, I know USC students are snobs but there’s a lot of merit to it. especially in LA
