Boston University

Sorry if there are already threads on this...Does anyone know how heavily BU weighs academics when kids audition? And are they known for have any kind of good financial aid? Thanks

The audition is definitely more important, however if you have below a certain SAT score/GPA they can’t do much. They can fight for people who are close to that line and that they really like, but one of my good friends from the summer program who got in artistically and who they really liked got rejected overall because her SAT scores weren’t up to University standard. So it isn’t so much of a percentage kind of thing, you have to get in artistically and then cleared academically, if that makes sense.

As for financial aid, they are pretty good if your FAFSA shows need. But otherwise, I wouldn’t expect much. And unless you are at the tippy top of your class don’t expect any academic scholarships. The Theatre School does have a small amount of talent scholarships.

This is all me and my friends experience auditioning from last year, as you know things can shift in a year when it comes to financial aid and requirements to get into a program.
