boston

i really like bc. it’s one of my top schools. i was hoping that someone could tell me more about the city of boston though. thanks

I could write a ten page document on the city of Boston. Read these resources and then you might find some more specific questions.

Want an overview of the whole city?

[Boston - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Boston - Wikipedia)

Ideas about what to do in Boston (which is never a problem btw)?

[Boston Guide: Hotels, Deals, Restaurants and Events in Boston](http://www.bostonusa.com/)

Boston is fantastic. BC isn’t actually in the city though. But it’s right at the edge of a train which will easily get you into Boston. Can you be more specific about what you want to know?

i live in the suburbs of nyc so i like being able to go into the city. what i want to know is what is the city like? what kind of atmosphere does it have to it? that kind of stuff. i know there is a ton to do like any city. and learning facts is good but doesn’t translate the atmosphere if that makes sense

Boston is bustling if I were to describe the atmosphere in one word. Boston has a ton of character that can, honestly, be pervasive sometimes. People here can think that Boston is the center of the universe and anything outside of 495 (the beltway) is unchartered territory. Then again, though, thats what you get with a charismatic city. Cities like Atlanta and Houston are quite the opposite. So, it just depends on whether or not you are looking for a city with character.

The physical atmosphere, if it happens that you were inquiring about that as well, of Boston is very typical to that of New York or Chicago.

The last major point I would say is that Boston is a very manageable city. The MBTA gets you pretty much anywhere in the Boston metro you could ever want to go. Its a large city no doubt, but the neighborhoods of Boston have their own unique flair.

I find Boston to be a very friendly city – just don’t wear a Yankees cap when you go there! : – ) I suggest visiting the city itself for a weekend or something, maybe in Spring – you can walk part of the Freedom Trail and get a nice look at several downtown areas while learning a little history. If you visit Trip Advisor.com, and go to the MA forum, you can ask there about places to see/things to do—and the people who answer are folks who live there, not hotel managers.
