Hi I am a incoming Cal freshman in the fall of 2012, and I have learned that I will be dorming in Bowles Hall. Could you guys tell me the specific details of what it is like to live here. Thank you, and I am wondering because I have heard that it was horrible from prior sources, but could you guys confirm or deny that notion with examples.

All-male dorm, so I imagine that it will be not be what you want.

any specific details you know of like bathroom situation or so

The dorm is named after its bathroom style. It’s just a large, round bowl where everyone goes to take a shower. There’s no curtains or anything.

I don’t want to discourage you, but unfortunately, most rumors are true about Bowles.

From a visiting girl’s perspective: creepy! Especially the elevator…

@demoz’s comment: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha

alright so tell me ways so that I can actually enjoy my stay at Bowles

you an incoming bowles freshman or did you escape “hell”?

Hahahaha, but nevertheless if you were a member of the hall at one point can you give me advice and tips?

@casper12: Befriend people from the Units

guys the only reason i put this dorm was because it was apparently the closest to my classes in the engineering department, i hope it doesnt mess with my freshman year.

You’re being oddly defensive about this…

Are you asking “hey guys how can i enjoy myself in this situation…” or are you really asking “hey guys! how can i enjoy myself in this situation??? ;D”

ummm excuse me, but I just want to make the easiest transition possible. Thank You.

enjoy Bowles?

■■■■■ that’s rich xD

Sausage Fest

Man, this is one tough crowd lol.

i decided i do not want to go through the hassle of changing dorms, and who knows maybe itll be a good experience. However, what are some of the better dorms in your opinion for future reference?

Any of the Units are better overall. There are pro’s and con’s everywhere but the consensus is that the units are the best overall.
