So I'm leaving tomorrow for Boys State, and I've been kind of down on going. I'm just afraid it'll end up being boring and I'll get roomed with some not-so-hygienic persons, but I'm more than likely going regardless of that.

So, for anyone that's already been to Boys State, care to share your experiences? I realize that they more than likely differ state to state, but it would be interesting to hear them.

I went to Tennessee Boys State about a month ago. (I don’t wanna brag but it’s ranked #1 in the nation :b). Anyways, i don’t know about all of them, but ours was run by the American Legion which is a veterans organization, so ours was very militaristic. We would stand in formation for many hours. We marched in formation everywhere we went. The people in charge were military officers. People loved to hate boys state, but overall it was a pretty good experience. It is worth having on your resume, even though my roomate was completely crazy. Like i said ours was militaristic, so we had long days. Woke up at 5, sleep at midnight. I was exhausted, and it amazed me how much they could squeeze into a day. It was the longest week of my life. But like I said, just make the most of it. It is worth having done, even if it isn’t the most fun thing in the world.

Out of the 15 candidates at my school, only 2 were selected. We had room for more but the candidates’s G.P.A was not up to snuff. And those 2 just barely passed the G.P.A Requirement, and then they didn’t even go anyway!
