Brady Hoke Fired, Rich Rod named Pac-12 Coach of the year

read title, discuss

sorry to double post but Les Miles last tweet was “Geaux Blue!!.. Beat em in the Horseshoe!!!”

Don’t think we’ll land Jim or Les.

“Brady Hoke Fired, Rich Rod named Pac-12 Coach of the year”

1) Rich Rod had the worst record in 130 years of Michigan football;

2) Rich Rod put the program on probation for the first time since the NCAA came on the scene;

3) Rich Rod scored points in buckets against the very weakest teams and had no defense for any team with a pulse;

4) Rich Rod broke the 40 continuous years of bowl attendance;

Here is a thought for you: should RR’s victories this year be used to explain why he was fired in a prior year? In other words, what is the benefit to Michigan four years ago to victories earned for another school today. Answer, without a time machine, you can only fire the guy for how he performed up to the point at which he is fired; you can’t reward him for victories to be earned in the future. On that basis, how can we fire Hoke today…what if he wins games next year for another school.

People who support RR must have already acted as a brain donor and can safely be fed into a woodchipper.

It should be noted that Hoke was the Big 10 Coach of the year in 2011.

RR’s coaching style was ill suited for Michigan/the Big 10. In the last three games of his third season at Michigan, RR’s team was outscored 138-49. That is unacceptable. Firing RR was the right decision. Hiring Hoke, on the other hand, was probably not the best decision.

whoa, no one ever said we should have kept Rich Rod. I feel like you guys are trying to pick at an argument that doesn’t exist.

I feel we have our best chance with landing Les Miles, because of his waning seasons in the SEC, but we may not choose him due to his old age.

My concern with Les Miles is his motivation level. He will be 62 next season, and he has already won a NC. I would love to see one of the Harbaughs take the job. I know, I know, it is HIGHLY unlikely, but one never knows.

Potential coaches, cons and pros for each and likeliness to accept

<a href=“Big names highlight list of head coach candidates to replace Hoke”>http://michigandaily.com/sports/michigan-coach-candidates-replace-brady-hoke-jim-harbaugh-les-miles

Surprised that Kingsbury (Texas Tech), Malzahn (Auburn), Stoops (Oklahoma) and the other Harbaugh were not listed among the candidates. Also, given the fact that Michigan has been recruiting talent intended for a pro-style offense, I do not think we will hire an option-style coach like Mullen.

Is Oregon’s coach, Mark Helfrich, being considered? He is probably too attached to Oregon to leave, but he seems like a good coach.
