Brag, Brag, Brag, Part II

Yeah, that was great! It was hard to pick her out of the group because her hair didn't look very red under those lights! Have to go rewind and watch it again. Before D auditioned for this, I did not know who Blake Shelton was. He's really got a cute personality and nice looking, too!

Yes, he does have a cute personality. I was able to spot your D right off, but then I know what she looks like, congrats again!

Check your private messages.

I thoroughly enjoyed that show! I can't remember the last time I plopped down & watched tv for over an hour. Even the segments showing the auditions were upbeat and so positive; the focus was more on the camaraderie of the choir rather than mocking the crazy people who had no business trying out. And yes, that Blake Shelton was charming & funny & cute. Best comment: Making the pink scarf guy promise to leave the scarf at home. Never heard of him before last night, and I'll check out his music now.

Congrats to your D --what a fun experience this must be for her.

We enjoyed the show also and discovered we knew several people in the Cincinnati choir. One is a student at Baldwin-Wallace, one was the vocal coach from the summer program D did last year, 4 graduates from her HS - although only one, the daughter in the fater daughter pair, was there in the time overlapping D, and some other folks from around town.

We enjoyed the positiveness of the show, rather than making people look bad. We will be interested in the outcome.

musicmom, what a fun show! We enjoyed it tremendously and are looking forward to watching again tonight. I, too, had never heard of Blake Shelton and I agree with you that he was very charming. I'm sure your D is having lots and lots of fun! :)

I wish I could have sat down earlier, I tuned in just in time to see CT (Bolton eh), the Army one (I was up and down, didn't care so much,) and then WOW, Philly. Sorry I missed the others, but I did enjoy the show, too. Good luck to your D, Musicmom! I don't really get to sit on the couch before 9, but I'll try to get my work done earlier next week!

We had a lot of fun watching the show last night. In addition to several friends from OCU, my daughter knows the very blonde young man from Kelly Rowland's choir. He used to be a VP major at OCU last year and then transferred to University of Houston. She had texts from him and a few others who were there during the show. Does anyone know if it's live?

My favorites thus far were OKC and Houston. Can't wait for tonight. What an experience for your D musicmom.

Yes, it is live. My D had told me about the guy in the Houston choir whom she knew when he attended OCU. I think all the choirs are getting to know one another and having a good time.

Melsmom, my D is in the choir with the two army guys. And the show is on each night THIS week (Mon-Thurs). If you wait til next week, it will be too late! :)

I think the Oklahoma Choir distiguished itself tonight! Great Job. My also know the boy in the Houston choir, I wonder if they'll be back? Gotta go vote!

Just want you all to know that the outfits they wear are chosen and provided by NBC wardrobe...

Sorry musicmom, I realized while watching tonight that your daughter was with that group that I kind of spaced thru last night. They were much better tonight for some reason. I was wondering about the "costumes" tonight too. I like the color coordinating, but the lead in blue with the gloves? Not so much. (CT) Ct was much better tonight I thought, but still Philly is amazing. Isn't it a little weird to have the "Celebs" kind of judging each other? The best part of all is that it's for a good cause, and everyone is so positive!

I love that it is so positive. None of the individual choir members has anything to gain from the show except bragging rights and the donation to their charity, so maybe that's why it's different than the others. No one person is going to win $1M or a recording contract at the end. Don't get me wrong--they are all wanting to win, but if they don't, they had a good time and a positive learning experience.

I mention the costumes because when my D first appeared on the screen tonight, her 17-year-old brother said, "Dang, she looks like a hooker!" lol

Awww - I thought she looked cute. At least you got to see her tonight - there are some camera hogs in all those choirs. I'll bet the elbows are flying during those group shots!

MM1215...we had about 20-30 people all rounded up to make their 10 calls. S got a little excited pointing out all the kids he knew in the OK group. Saw your D. Clearly having a blast.

ahhhhh. You guys are all so nice! I appreciate each of you taking the time to vote.

Ohh - musicmom - your D looks really beautiful tonight - she is very photogenic! I think they picked that green just for her. And I loved that they really sang as a choir in "Joy to the World" rather than all the soloists with backup singers that we've been seeing.

Thank you, cartera45. She seemed to get a lot of camera time tonight, and green is one of her best colors! She was excited when she learned that they were the "green" choir. I also thought Joy to the World was a nice change from the backup singers.

I have to admit that I was surprised that it was Michael Bolton's choir eliminated tonight. I thought (and kinda hoped!) it would be Nick Lachey's. I just don't think that they are up to the same standard of performance of the others'. And, to pick up what someone mentioned earlier in the thread, there are definitely a few 'camera hogs' in that group, some truly 'schmacty' performers. It would be interesting to know if any of those are the MT students who have been mentioned. :)

musicmom, your D did, indeed, look beautiful tonight. You must be having so much fun watching this! Regardless of the outcome tomorrow night, I have a feeling that she will be riding a true, happy 'high' when she comes home for the holidays. I was going to ask you about the wardrobe issue, so I'm glad you mentioned it. I had a feeling that they were being given things to wear, and I have to say that the choices have not always been the most flattering to all performers.

One of the most fun parts of this for me has been watching Patti LaBelle as she conducts her choir. She is obviously enjoying this so very much and is doing her best to channel her energy and talent into them at every moment. She's done a great job, as have they!

I agree about the costumes. D looks good in green, but she's used to being a little more covered! Plus she is so extremely fair complected that she almost glows under the lights!

Oh I get it with the camera hogs :) Blondie is really quite lovely tho and it's hare to take your eyes off her. In face Lachey's group probably wins for overall beauty, they even get to wear silver, tho it's not the most flattering under the lights & tends to add a pound or two.
Congrats to OK and your D musicmom, they are going strong & did a great job last night! I honestly had no idea that choirs move around like that and pictured a standing group of kids in long robes, so I am really enjoying watching them progress. All of them seem more and more confident, as well as polished as time goes on, & I can only imagine the boost it will be to your D's abilities & confidence! She is beautiful, but I would tell her to hog the camera more! (Front & Center!!)
