jimbob1225- as of this date no one, I repeat no one has actually followed through and asked our daughter her test scores. Apparently reason prevails before the dumb question is asked again. In regards to embarrassment, our daughter cares little about the scores and has to ask us what her scores actually were ( I am not making this up!). She is not embarrassed about something she cares little about. Again it is her academic life not ours.

OP, I envy you! My mom NEVER brags abt me...and its kinda dissapointing. When I went for Int'l Olympiad, she was like,"Yeah, he went...I have no idea how!"...and abt my test scores its always,"He's not bad...Okay I guess".
It's not like i'm asking her to brag abt me...just that if she cd mention it to others.

All parents like to brag about their kids when they do well be it in school or sports, it helps justify having kids..."look at my kid.." Some do it a bit more than others.

For us, sure we love to brag, but we try and limit the who we brag to. We have friends whose kids are in rehab, barely getting a GED, why we would sit there and tell them "well suzie made the dean's list again, is helping the homeless and blah blah blah.." That would be insensitive.

We "try" to brag on a limited basis, sometimes we miss the mark, but hey, we're parents.
