Breaks during the SAT

How many breaks are there and how many minutes do they continue ?

I had
section 1
section 2
5 min break
section 3
section 4
5 min break
section 5
section 6
5 min break
section 7-10

potter this is insane.Four sections in a row without a break ?WHen I took the test in January i remember I had 4 breaks

This is kind of a dumb question, but you’re allowed to leave the room during breaks, right? During the PSAT the proctor wouldn’t let us leave the room at all and I had to pee so bad I almost canceled my score and walked out…

Yes, you are allowed to leave. Since it is the end of a section and it’s against the rules to go back to the section, there is no reason why not.

The PSAT is different though. That is a shorter test.

In May, I only had 1 break (and it was only around 3 minutes long). I think it was after Section 5 or so. My proctor was just like “you all want to just get through this right?”. And she didn’t give us a break until someone specifically asked for it.

In March, I think I had 3 breaks, and they were each 3 minutes long.

I had the same break schedule as ido.potter.

I had only one break on the May test that was about 2-3 minutes long. I thought I was going to pass out from exhaustion towards the end (section 8 and onwards). I think it really affected my score.

Our proctor was such an a-hole…

So you only get breaks when the proctor thinks you should get them, not at set times specified by the College Board?

the breaks I mentioned are in the college board direction to the proctor
