<p>I'm taking the SAT for the first time this January. Anybody know how many breaks we have and the length of each break? Also, between what sections are there breaks? Thanks!</p>
<p>typically, there is suppose to be 3 breaks. but some proctors do not strictly follow the cb guidelines. my proctor for the oct 09 test gave us like 5 breaks, while my friend who tested in another had to go through the whole test without a single break.</p>
<p>This is completely dependant on your proctor, however, sometimes as start-up/registration takes longer than th breaks will be shorter.
Generally there are 2~3 breaks at around 5~10 minutes.</p>
<p>Completely untrue all — each proctor has a script to read from and has to give you the breaks noted in the manual. You get three five minute breaks (these are not always strictly timed although they should be). These come after sections 2, 4 and 6. </p>
<p>the first 7 sections are 25 minutes each, 8 & 9 are 20 minutes each and 10 is 10 minutes each.</p>
<p>Also, if your proctor did not give you breaks or gave you more than 3 breaks you should report it. </p>

<p>That is the exact script and schedule for the test, with the exception of not asking anymore for your SSN.</p>
<p>If I ever got too many breaks, I wouldn’t report it. They might cancel everybody’s scores for that even though it was the proctor’s fault! Plus, wouldn’t you WANT to have a few extra minutes in between? With that said, I had the regular breaks both times. It’s not a matter of honesty if it’s beyond your control.
