Bridge Program/Acceptance

Sooo my entire family has gone to utk and I have always wanted to go to school there. Now it is my senior year and I applied with a GPA of 3.2 and ACT 25 and I have gotten deferred. I really do not want to do the bridge program because sorority is something that is very important. Any advice/ personal experience? I am really starting to worry that they will not accept me and just offer me the bridge.

@joan18 I have never been put into this situation but I would say to contact admissions, ask if they can give either a reason for deferment or give you advice on what would make you a more desirable applicant.

Maintaining all A’s and B’s throughout your senior year is definitely necessary, possibly submitting a résumé, a letter of recommendation or two, and most likely studying for and retaking the ACT or trying the SAT instead for a higher score. If you could pull it up to a 28-30 range or a 1200+ you will look better from a testing standpoint.

Good luck to you!

In order for you to even get them to change their mind, you need to get your bridge appealed and write them a letter and two essays. More then likely they won’t change their mind.
