If I choose UCF, I'll have Florida Prepaid, Bright Futures, and the $17k/year NMF Scholarship.
I'm pretty sure either FP+NMF or BF+NMF would cover the full cost of attendance. What happens to the one that isn't used? Do I get the money that BF/FP would have payed to UCF? Or do I get the actual value of my FP account/nothing from BF?

You get the money back in the form of a check. I highly suggest opening a second account for the money you receive back; therefore, when tax time comes you can pay it from that and not your pocket. Also with a seperate account you can pay all your school fees and whatnot through that.

At my university the priority funds are taken in this order: Federal/state aid, merit, then private funds. You’d be most likely getting back FP money. UCF, which is different from my university, does not give awards that exceed your COA, so perhaps your scholarship will be reduced.

The best answer will come from the mouth of UCF. Give them a call.
