Bright Futures with other Scholarships

<p>My D has just been notified that she has won a scholarship (yay!) that can only be applied towards tuition. She also is eligible for the 100% Bright Futures scholarship. Is this a case, like with Florida Prepaid, where the outside scholarship can be applied towards tuition and Bright Futures can be paid out to her to cover other expenses? </p>

<p>I know the best source for an answer would be UF's Financial Aid office, but I would love to have some sort of idea on an answer without having to wait for Monday! I've googled Florida Bright Futures, but I can't find anything definitive. I did find a reference on the Florida Prepaid Plan page that states that Bright Futures is not limited to the payment of course registration fees. If any of you out there has had a similar experience, I'd be thankful if you could share.</p>

<p>Your D will get a check for the amount of Bright Futures, and is free to spend it for college related expenses or send it to you to help pay for dorms etc.</p>
