<p>I just wanted to ask if we should bring formal clothing to Dartmouth (like formal suits and ties, etc.) and what type of formal clothing we should bring and should not bring.</p>

<p>Unless you are playing in an orchestra, don’t bring a tux. You really won’t need a suit. It will be good to have a jacket, tie, some nice Khaki’s or slacks on hand in case someone invites you to their formal.</p>
<p>Yeah, the above is right. Some guys do wear actual suits to formal, but you certainly don’t need one…couple nice shirts, couple of ties, a jacket, and a pair of dress pants or two will see you through all four years.</p>
<p>LOL The biggest packing mistake I made was not bringing formal clothes. If you plan on joining student groups you will need them. I had dinner with the former VP of Nicaragua at the Hanover Inn… and you could say I was more than a little underdressed.</p>
