We are coming down for parents weekend in early October. Regarding the football game, I understand that large bags or backpacks are not allowed into the coliseum. Is there a secret on how to bring in plastic bottles of water or food into the football game?

I know at pro football games people bring items in medium sized clear plastic bags.

I don’t know if it’s different for the non-student section, but they allow you to just carry in food and plastic water bottles. The one thing with water bottles is that they must be sealed (at least in the student section).

There’s also a TON of food vendors once you’re inside. Don’t forget the traditional bacon wrapped hot dog vendors out on the street when you leave the game :)

One kind of weird thing is they will squawk at you if you try to bring in an umbrella. Even if it is raining or threatening to. Rare in LA, but it was like that for us one time.

I think girls can get stuff in way easier than guys to the student section. I’ve never smuggled anything in, but last time, I just brought stuff over in my drawstring backpack thing that I got at the SCend off and they squeezed it and let me in.

i stuck a water bottle in my jeans pocket, and held my large usc sweater in my arms covering the bulge. i was caught off guard when we entered the gate though, and the security asked everyone to lift up their shirts so they can check our waists. so i just lifted up my shirt partially on the side without the bottle.

Thanks for the information.
I am not trying to sneak anything in, just trying to find a way to get a bottle of water, binoculars, maybe some food into the coliseum in an approved, and convenient way. I would normally just carry a backpack, but they are not allowed. So I was trying to figure out what is allowed to bring items in without having to carry them individually. At some stadiums I see people carrying large clear bags so they can be easily searched. Just curious.
