I'm a Brit applying to some Ivy Schools this year and I'm terribly confused about the recommendations I need from my school. Does my counselor (or whoever deals with uni applications) need to create a seperate account on common app and submit all the documents required via the website or do we send seperate copies to the schools I'm applying to?

Also, could somebody PLEASE make a list of documents I'll need to ask my school for (like teacher recommendations etc.)

Don't hate on me, for asking such silly questions, but I'm juggling uni applications in four countries at the same time, and the common app website is not particularly helpful...

You enter your counselor’s email and name in your common app account and that will generate an email message to your counselor with instructions. The email will provide your counselor with have the opportunity to either create a common app account and upload the School Report form online (once for all your schools) or opt out. If your counselor opts out of online submission, your account will indicate that fact and present you with links to the school report form to print and hand your counselor. If your counselor elects hard copy submission by mail, he/she can fill out a single hard copy of the school report form and copy it for all your common app schools.

Once your create your common app account and add all your schools to it, you’ll be able to see how many teacher recommendations are required/permitted by each school.

At a minimum your counselor will need to fill out the school form (which includes a transcript and a recommendation, among other things) and you will need two additional teacher recommendations. All of these are generic items that can be used for all of your common app schools.

At the end of your fall term (preferably before regular decision deadlines), your counselor will need to fill out a Mid-Year Report with updated grades and any changes to your schedule. There is also an Optional Report for any of your recommenders to provide additional or changed information at any time.
