Ok so there are two girls I really like to be my potential roommate for my freshman year at UF. What are the triple dorms in Broward hall like and are they easy for freshman to get? Would you recommend it or stay away? Thanks!
Here’s a link to a video tour of Broward that includes a double and triple room.
Triples are pretty tight on space, expecially for girls with lots of clothes, shoes, and stuff like that. I would avoid a triple if possible.

I lived in a Broward triple my freshman year(2012). Since I’ve moved out they have finished completely renovating Broward hall and it is actually pretty nice now. The triple we had had two normal closets built into the walls and a wardrobe style closet. There was three dressers, one fit under the pair of bunk beds, another i stored under my lofted bed and the third was a normal sized dresser that we had a TV set up on. It had three desks and enough room for two mini-fridges. We probably could have fit another one but the other two guys I was with knew each other and didn’t mind sharing one. There is a bunk bed and another lofted bed. I had the lofted bed and I had my desk and dresser directly under my bed.
They are definitely easy for freshman to get as it was the only room that was available because I applied for housing late. You’ll come to learn that it is mostly freshman that live in dorms(Especially Broward). There were no upperclassmen on my floor.
It is definitely a tight fit especially when all three of you are in the room at the same time, which wasn’t often considering we were all in Fraternities and were usually pretty busy going to classes/goofing off/doing other freshman stuff.
Personally it worked out for us even because we were all relatively clean people and never really had any arguments.
Things you should consider when going for a triple over a double/single:
You have two roommates. There is greater potential for personality clashes and generally just not getting along/being able to live together. I’m sure you think those two girls are your good friends and nothing could go wrong, but things change when people live together. You truly learn who that person is.
It will be VERY cramped. As the above poster said, especially for girls, there won’t be a lot of space for your possessions. Learn how to store smart. The triples are not 1.5 times the size of doubles, which you’d expect.
Alone time can be hard to come by. If your someone who needs your space sometimes or are trying to “hang out” with a SO, it could get difficult.
Alright I’m going to quit procrastinating studying for finals now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks everyone I appreciate it !! @flip5923 that was really helpful!
