Honestly, I have no desire to apply to any of my other schools. Addressing the “safety” issue is almost like root canal for me. This is a problem.

I have friends attending both Brown and Cornell, their experiences couldn’t be more opposite.
I never really considered the idea of a safety, it was always a 1-1 between Brown and Cornell. Down with the restrictive ED policies!

Same, DC. But you already know that :)

I know same! like i’m like hmm i should apply to some safety schools justt to be safe, but i dont even wanna do that bc i have NO desire to apply anywhere else. even if i got into those safety schools, i wouldnt EVER wanna go there.

and no other school in this WHOLE 50 STATES USA is living up to my expectations that has been set by Brown. i’m actually really scared what will happen to me iffff i dont get in( really really hopefully not). so i’m tryinggg to see the good in my other choices, and trying to like it more.

how were your friends’ experiences different at cornell and brown?

Yeah. Brown’s definitely the barometer to which all other schools have to measure up to. And they all fail miserably. Right now, all I want is to not get flat out rejected (of course, getting accepted would be the most amazing thing everrrr, but this is me not getting my hopes up).

All this talk of not going to Brown is making me nauseous.

Ivy, go onlineee! =]

guys wat should i wear for my interview tomorrow? should i take their advice and go casual?

and concerning the Brown and cornell thing, brown def rocks harder. i know people who go to cornell and they never talk about it unless u ask them. but people who go to the other ivies that i know every other word is related to it. idk. and my friends visited this past spring and not to downgrade cornell or anything but they said that it is wack in terms of social life and parties. they said it was a friday night and the place was dead. dont know about u guys but that is def not the place for me…

how come I don’t get an interviewwwwwww…:(

how were you interviewees contacted? I feel like being interview would help considering I’m such a charming fellow ;)

Haha, interviews don’t hold much weight in the admissions process, but if you read the thread about Interviews by Fireandice, then your questions will be cleared up. =]

Haha nevin :p

Hopefaith:

Well basically my Cornell friend, he’s in ILR as well, talks about the mundane party life. Same parties, same people, same fraternities running the show. As far as academics, I don’t think he’s too enthusiastic about many of his classes either.
My Brown friend on the other hand, is in a monogamous relationship with anything related to Brown, all he does is talk about the Ratty, the Gate, and the amazing people there. He adores his teachers, currently a polisci major himself, and hasn’t got a bad thing to say about the school besides the weather.

I don’t think I’ll apply to Brown if Cornell rejects me, I feel it’d be a slap to the face to Brown. That sounds a tad too dramatic but I guess it gets the point across.

Good luck to all of you applying to Brown :)

haha nevin. thanks isellhope. but y did you say that you wouldnt apply to brown if cornell accepts you? their not going to know if it is that you applied to cornell. i dont get it…

Any idea how Brown is doing?

I KNEW SOMETHING LIKE THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!! i posted it on facebook a week ago!!! wow…

hi again!
just wondering – where do i find this countdown to ED notification that everyone is talking about??

I believe this is the countdown website: [Countdown to Brown University Early Decision Results](http://latinlookup.com/)

@isellhope- thanks!(= that was really helpful, to see an insight into the different school spirits

and @everyone- where else are you guys applying to?

I think after brown, my second choice is upenn.
Do you guys know which other schools have this academic and social and friendly feeling that brown and upenn does? and is located in either urban or a suburban town? i’m looking for some less prestigious schools, somewhere around the par with boston college maybe

and oh yeah about the yale early app decrease thing, yayy! i hope this is true for brown also, but i definitely don’t want to illwish it. my desire for brown is just big, that’s all.

Boston College is harder to get into than I thought: 26%! I always assumed it was a 50% school, for whatever reason.
