Hello, I am currently a sophomore, and I’d like to know how my current grades/classes stack up. I had a fairly strong freshman year but, this year as a sophomore I took my first honors/AP classes, and I faced somewhat of a challenge. If possible, please let me know how I should structure my Junior year Schedule as well, and what I need to get on my SAT/ACT and SAT Subject tests. Thanks in advance!

A lot depends on how your grades are in the context of your school, where you rank against other students. Just make sure your junior grades are very good, and try not to dwell on sophomore grades which you can’t change. A 2250+ on the SATs would be very good, and 700s on your Subject tests should keep you academically competitive. Just make sure that your ECs are up to par.

Unfortunately the OP will not likely get into Mohawk.

"Priority for Admission

Students are admitted to Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology in the following priority order:

Permanent residents of Ontario

Permanent residents of other Canadian provinces and territories

Other applicants "

Ok honestly? You have basically no chance of getting in on your current trajectory. Your UNWEIGHTED gpa is like a 3 for sophomore year. You need to raise all your grades (in real academic classes that is) up to an A, with an A+ in math for good measure to show how you rebounded so well. Although really, you should be shooting for the top (A+), A is a minimum, and A-'s should probably be balanced out. Unless your school doesn’t give A+'s?

The others in this thread are apparently just trying to be cool and nice, so they’re probably going to respond with “lolz r u serious?” to my post, but w/e. you asked.

I don’t think it ever hurts to apply. I mean we are all just students too, many seniors who aren’t even into Brown yet (although hopefully that changes by Monday:)). I think people will say what they will and who knows maybe they’re right but in reality Chance Threads have no creditability, only the admissions office can call your chances. Kids have gotten into Brown with SAT sections sub 550 and been rejected with 800s across the board. At the end of the day if you truly love Brown apply…and I just realized this thread was from June and the OP may not even ever read this…shows how smart I am
