Brown 2015 Hopefuls

I’m applying. Maybe ED. i have legacy. I feel like I have a good chance, but who knows…

Crossing my fingers!

Application advice for EDers:

When I applied ED I was so excited/nervous that I wasn’t going to have strong enough essays or good enough grades or blah blah blah. However, when you’re actually doing your application, put these feelings aside. EVeryone feels the same way. Be very careful on the parts where you’re filling stuff in on the common app. Make sure you give yourself every (legal) advantage possible. For the essays, remember that you’re selling yourself. So, you can’t be like “Well, I’m okay… I’m not fantastic, but I would LOVE to go to Brown.” No. Obviously, they don’t like that and I’ve read so many college essays like that this year it was shocking. You need to be like “Brown, you want ME! This is why you want me.” Having confidence shows in your essays. Though not 1 of my long essays touched on Brown (too) specifically, but I tried to show they traits they liked and making a very unique approach. At this point, this is the most crucial factor for you guys to be paying attention to. Supplement essays were easy to right for me. I liked them a lot, especially the academic interest and what don’t you know? essays.

IT’S NOT OVER YET!! FINISH STRONG!!

Good luck everyone. :). If you ever need help, feel free to PM me.

I’m another one of many students who’s applying (hopefully) through the Questbridge program. Hey there. :]

guys any advice for internationals ?? anything i should be chary of ??

I will apply here, likely as my third choice (under MIT and Cornell), but due to the difficulty of getting in to any Ivy/1st Tier school, I probably am just as likely to end up going here as to my 1st or second choices

I’m applying for PLME and Brown as my first choice. my fiancee goes to brown.

^Fiance? Are you a Mormon?

I might apply Brown ED. :)

I am still deciding whether I should apply for my ABSOLUTE REACH program (PLME @ Brown) or settle for a target school that I can have a decent chance of getting in…

Good luck to everyone!!

(I’m applying as a transfer)

Will apply if I dont get in ED to NYU! :)

I’m applying RD for PLME probably

Deciding between Vassar and Brown to ED. They’re both reach schools, with Vassar being a lower reach, so I’m still struggling between the two. I’d say Brown’s my first choice by a very small margin. If I apply Brown ED and Vassar RD, I might not get into any. If I apply Vassar ED though, I might be able to get in. Ugh. Anways, does Brown offer EDII?

Brown just has ED and RD.

I’m 90% sure that I’ll apply to Brown PLME ED.

Already worrying that I can’t write “Why Brown?” essay…cuz to be completely honest…I’m just a regular underachieving (lazy) nerd.

^ lol i’m the same way, which is why i’m getting started on it now.

When will Brown Supplement come out? I already started the essays, but I am not sure if I answered the prompts. I’m only applying for undergraduate, not PLME or RISD.

^ I keep hearing around August. I’m going mad for the wait.

I’m visiting Brown to see if I should apply there ED. I hear their Neuroscience program is AMAZING! :)

I’m trying to decide whether to apply Brown, Dartmouth, or Cornell early. Any suggestions?
