What is the average range of accepted students’ ACT scores? Also, Brown accepts the ACT with writing w/o subject tests right?

Lastly, there seems to be some controversy as to just submitting the ACT instead of the SAT or ACT + SAT and acceptance into the university. Does anyone have a personal anecdote of someone getting in with just the ACT and not being a recruited athlete or minority etc?

most of the answers you're looking for can be readily found online.

I don't know the average range. However, I do know that Brown absolutely allows one to submit the ACT and nothing else. In my opinion, it will not hurt you to not send SAT subject test scores. If Brown admissions was against this sort of action, they would not allow it...period. I applied with only and ACT score and was admitted. Other schools (i.e. Harvard, Dartmouth, Columbia, etc) require subject tests whether or not you submit the ACT so it would still be wise to take them so you may cover your bases.

Middle range is 28-32, I think, give or take a point or two. Wolfmanjack is right, all the info for the first question is on their app page.

As for the second, it's what I'm doing! I have a decent ACT score, and I know I would never get the equivalent on the SAT. Then again, I am sending in subject tests scores. What I'd have to say is: they make it a point that they treat them equally, and if they didn't, they probably wouldn't say that. In analyzing who gets in with what, keep in mind that there are simply more people that do the SAT + subject tests instead of the ACT only, so whatever results you find might not be relatively useful.

Thanks a lot guys.
