Brown Class of 2016 Early Applicants

shall we obsess a little? About stuff we can’t possibly know? YES! What else is there to do? Here goes: Do you think there is ANY advantage to ED, not including for the athletes, the legacies-- I mean those guys can’t represent 15 percent or so, can they? I know what the adcom says…but I wonder. Why have ED in the first place? Why not just have a special app process for athletes or other exceptions…

Honestly, I believe it does help to a certain extent. It shows that you are fully committed to the school and that it is your first choice. A few years back, the admissions director from UPenn came to my district and answered some of our questions, one of which was this one and she immediately answered “Yes.”

How come I didn’t receive my account and password email? I got the one that said my account info will be sent out unto a few weeks…why!!?

Brown probably received most of its applications in mid to late October, so it could take a bit longer for you to receive your information.

Hey krnpie, don’t worry about it. I got the email about my account 2 weeks after I sent in my application.

FREAKING OUT SERIOUSLY!!!
I want to get into the plme so badly!!!
My sat scores are pretty bad, but i hope my CV will cover for thAT can anyone chance me…

Top 5 percent in my class, a 4.0 GPA
took

i am also did colorguard for three years…
I did over in three years 400 hours of volunteering at various hospital in various area
this is just some of the things i have done…i also did shadowing, involved in the drama

However this is my downfall…my SATS
740 on math
650 on writing
590…in reading
i know that sucks
but i did get a 30 on my reading portion of my ACT

The reason for suckish score is that english is my 4th language
urdu
spanish
arabic
then english
after english i took latin

but i grew up in an area where it was heavily spanish so i grew up learning and speaking spanish when i was young and when i move to NY when i was in 6th grade that is when i learned english…
but that did not stop me from pushing myself into Ap english and college level english scores where i currently hold As in those classes

My hope is brown will understand my background and look over my critical reading score what do you think…

You have a fair chance… just like the rest of us. This thread is for us to talk about decisions, not for chance posts.

Sorry… Well I did apply ED and I have not gotten a call yet when should I call the admission office for a request…??

Applicants do not receive phone calls, or at least not for U.S. applicants. You will be notified through email about any news and you will find your decision in your Brown portal login.

No I mean for an interview

You will be notified through an email.

That’s false. I have several friends who were contacted through a phone call to schedule an interview.

[Brown University Early Admission Decision](http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/)

DECEMBER 13 AT 5PM!

I wonder how many applicants have already been accepted and the results are just waiting to be posted

That’s actually not entirely true! The applications go to committee once they have been reviewed by2 admissions officers (your area one and a random one). So I’m not sure if anyone has actually been “accepted” yet

Okay, lovelyday0, most people will be contacted through email. However, my interviewer did not have my phone number, so he just emailed me. This seems to be the case with MOST applicants, especially if they’re international.

T-Minus one month guys. This is going to be the longest month of my life yet.

I know, I just wanna know! The more I wait the more false hopes I get
