<p>S received an email from brown saying Thank you for applying to Brown and basically saying that they will do a good review of all his materials etc etc.</p>

<p>I think everyone got the same email. Didn’t like the email. Generates false hope. Would rather a simple “you’re in” or “you’re out” email and do away with the fluff</p>
<p>Got the email as well and finally had my interview! It was amazing and lasted well over an hour . Too bad it doesn’t count more :(</p>

<p>Hi im also applying to Brown. A teacher who wrote me a recommendation for my extracurricular was sent a letter from Brown saying thank you for writing the recommendation. I have never heard of that before. Is that done routinely at Brown?</p>
<p>^^Don’t worry, the info the interviewers have in advance always seems to be wrong. By Brown interviewer thought I did debate–I don’t, but I do other political stuff–and my Chicago interviewer thought I was interested in studying abroad–not particularly.</p>
