Thanks, unicameral2013!

Oh man this it, my app is in 0.0 now comes the grueling wait and constant email checking.

I applied to Brown as well…so many supplemental mini-essays! Did you guys do A, B, or C?

Hi guys!

Sent in my app about an hour ago. Really not expecting very much out of this whole process, but I can dream!

harvardhopeful, I did C

I wrote about my “love for literature.”

B. I talked about a shift of interest in politics, which is what I want to focus my studies on.

B. I talked about my pseudo-intellectual club I formed :P

Is it actually called the “pseudo intellectual club”? Because that is genius, and I would have totally joined if I went to your school

Yeah, well we mainly met and talked about whatever seemed relevant at the time… Again the “name” means it’s not really a club, but the name also is an oxy moron… We debate over the most random of things it’s great!

That’s awesome. I wish ppl at my school were chill

Lol there is probably <5% of my class that is “chill”… The rest either drop out , care too much about swag, or something else… I’m the only guy in my class applying to top 25’s

@IvyLeague2020 I interviewed for Yale and it was super casual. Just talked in a Starbucks for about an hour about everything from politics to astrophysics. Unfortunately, I got deferred SCEA from there, but I’m keeping hope alive.

I also interviewed for Harvard and that was a far different atmosphere. It was with an 86 year old urologist and was at his house. Nothing too stressful but definitely not as laid back as the Yale one was.

I interviewed for Georgetown EA. My interviewer was like a 55-year-old realtor and we met in the lobby of her swanky condo. It was nice enough and she seemed impressed with me, but I wouldn’t say it was laid back or that we “clicked”.

I’m with you in that one karatekid, I’m not going to get my hopes up too high, after all, they call it a reach for a reason.

Oh man, just the thought of interviewing scares me, I hope I can charm my interviewer over with my awkwardness

Guys honestly though…how much did the supplement drive you crazy. Totally unexpected for Brown to have such structured questions. And some questions I just didn’t like. Especially the community one was like…ugh.

^ Firstly, welcome my fellow nocturnal hahaha. I see I’m not the only one who browses CC this late.

Secondly, writing responses to the prompts wasn’t difficult for me; cutting down my responses to fit the character limits however, that’s a different story. If I didn’t love Brown so much, I swear I would have just given up and applied to UChicago where there is no limit.

Hey guys! I just applied to Brown, but it’s my very, very high reach school to put it generously. What are ya’ll interested in studying? :)

Hey guys! Am I the only one who thinks the wait will be forever?

I really liked Brown’s supplement, even though it was pretty lengthy; gave a good sense of who I was. Unfortunately, I completely messed up the academic essay for my intended CS major: “Include your full name, school, and birth date at the top of each page, and be sure to indicate the number corresponding to each question.” ← I basically ignored that sentence. Looks like no Brown for me! I am going to send the admissions office a revision to reflect those instructions on a whim, but I can’t say I expect it to be accepted.

I really hated Brown’s supplement. If they really wanted to know all this information about us, couldn’t they at least give us enough space to answer properly?
