Brown Class of 2019 Early Decision Applicants

Texas. Already dreading finishing my other billion app supplements…

Seattleite/Thai living in Thailand here :)

EA: Bard, Beloit
ED: Brown
Regular: Tufts, Wesleyan

2 more days!! I’ve slowly come to accept that, odds are, I’ll be deferred so I’m trying not to get too worked up. So I’ve resolved to only refresh my portal every hour instead of every 30 mins #ithinkineedhelp haha

Brown portal is in my bookmark bar and I find myself constantly clicking it every time I’m on the internet lol

Maryland!

I’ve also applied to UMBC (a popular university around my area… my safety school) for early action and will be applying to Columbia, NYU, RISD, Cooper Union, and UMD College Park (MD state school). I’m an art kid, so that’s why RISD and Cooper Union are on my list, but I’m more interested in liberal arts at the moment so that’s why I’m applying to Brown ED.

I’m from Spain (fun fact, no one from Spain was admitted to the class of 2018 so just let me cry in the corner for a sec).

I did EA to UNH and Northeastern and then RD to Cornell, UPenn, NYU, BU, Bates and Colby.

Inspiration from the writer, Johnathan Mooney, Brown class of 2000:

“And what a dismal Ivy League applicant I made: spelled at a third-grade level, read in the 13th percentile, had the attention span of a gnat. I was a mediocre high school student; I had average test scores and a single-minded focus on one subject. They all said no. Brown said yes.”

Good luck to everyone on Thursday!

This week’s been going so slowly… Can’t wait

@arwarw‌ Sorry to disappoint you but brown was much less competitive 20 years ago :(

Anyone else from France?

@UnicornPower‌ LOL. Quel dommage. But, I’m not an applicant, just a parent wishing you and others all the best on Thursday. Rest assured, you’re more than just your stats even in 2014. Good Luck!

I’ve already applied to USF, FSU (state safety schools), Suffolk, University of New Hampshirr (out of state safeties), Northeastern, BU, American U, Tulane. I need to finish Emory, Vanderbuilt, Oberlin, NYU, Warren Wilson, and possibly UChicago and Wesleyan. I hatw writing all these essays so REALLY hoping for some good news thursday!

How have you already applied? did you just send the regular decision really early?

What’s the first thing you guys are going to do after you check?

@petitetee‌ well it depends on the response. If I get accepted, I’m gonna scream really loud, and when I calm down order a hoodie and car sticker. If I get deferred or denied, probably just do my homework

@whats9plus10‌ lol I have the same plan. I’m gonna order a hoodie and a decal for my mom’s car that says something along the lines of “I’m a brown mom” or “Brown parent” this all after I do my victory lap around manhattan of course. If I get deferred, I’ll sigh and open common app to finish my other apps.

@lisaol, yes, being Hispanic will help.

Did anyone NOT receive the Brown email last week letting you know that decisions status would be posted on Dec. 11 at 5:00? I am wondering…

thanks!

@UnicornPower‌ my state schools all either have rolling decision or super early RD decision, and the others are non-binding EA

lol is everyone planning on ordering a hoodie? because same. i already know which one I want and everything…

I am from China(fun…), but attend a high school in Kentucky now(even better…)
I am also applying to Vanderbilt, Swarthmore, Amherst and Cooper Union for RD. Now, I have NO motivation to do ANYTHING!!! I probably won’t get into Brown, but I can’t stop daydreaming. Just want to say all of you guys are overwhelmingly excellent and hope we all get accept^^
